He hasn't exactly been a fast riser in the coaching ranks and I have no idea how he is as a recruiter. My guess is he's not elite in that level because if he was, he'd be someplace other than Syracuse.

Personally I'd rather hire someone that's an ace recruiter with an eye for talent.

Wheatley was a very fast riser, high school to D-2 to EMU to Syracuse in three years. He was part of a good Syracuse staff that had a couple of good years before going to the NFL along with their head coach.

Mike Hart spent two years a piece coaching on some mediocre-bad EMU teams and some mediocre-good WMU teams and has only been at Syracuse for a year, they went 4-8.

Great RB at Michigan....besides that what credentials does he have for said position? Has even coached above group of 5? Any backs so drastic improvement under his watch? Has he shown great ability as a recruiter?

He was at Syracuse this year, his first year there. Not great, but is still P5 in the ACC.

Rushing stats went down from last year. However, first year coach Dino Babers switched from a pro style to spread this year which is blamed for some of the fall off. Hard to say.

EDIT: 2015 leading rusher Jordan Fredericks went from 107 carries/607 yards in 2015 to 28/139 in 2016. He just transfered due to not fitting scheme. So there does seem to be some truth to that. Rest of the team's rushing improved.

Rushing stats went up dramatically in both years he was at WMU though. Was also said to be a good recruiter.

Harbaugh will go out and get the best mix of position coach/recruiter/football mind/fit at the position.

That might not be Hart but he is a nice floor for a hire.
