Prediction for the UConn game and for the Fightin' Catfish vs Lil Bro

Submitted by WingsNWolverines on

Not a whole lot of action going on this weekend college football wise and by action I mean lack of exciting games. Although I don't expect it to happen I think the Auburn vs LSU game could have some exciting moments. Then again I see Auburn being killed in the 1st quarter all the way to the 4th. I think LSU will win by 20 or 22 points. Auburn still sucks. As for our game vs UConn, the Wolverines will be beyond furious going into this game and fired up ready to f*ck somebody up. I look for a lot of hard hits, strong runs and a much better passing game by Devin. I also look for Clark to light their QB up early. Also as much as we hate both Sparty and ND these two face each other in South Bend this weekend on NBC. MSU with their strong defense should be able to hold the Irish under 21 points possibly if Rees has another "pickoff" perfomance like he did vs Michigan two weeks ago. However I believe because of their stronger offensive weapons and with a realible QB in Rees who's able to hit his WRs, I have the Irish handing MSU their first loss of the season. So here's my predictions for both games on Saturday. Michigan 56 UConn 10 ND 21 MSU 17. GO BLUE. Your picks?

I refuse to predict again. I intentionally did not wear my usual/lucky shirt/jersey combo last week because it's Akron, you know? I will never do that again. I can't even get the game in TX and I will be wearing my shirt and jersey at game time. It's all up to me, guys.

I actually wore my previously unlucky MGoPhotobomb t-shirt to the Notre Dame game because I was so confident we'd win. I now regard it as appropriately lucked up, though I didn't wear it to Akron, which may have been part of the probelm.

I'm looking for Frank Clark to light up their QB in the same way I'm looking for a winning lotto ticket.  Sure, I want it to happen, but I have no reason to think it will.

Yeah Frank Clark won't be lighting much of anything up.  I'd love to eat crow about this, I welcome it with open arms.  It ain't happening though.  I can and would like to see him play better, though.  By playing better, I mean not running over his own troops.

I'd also like to see our linebackers (not all but Bolden, Morgan maybe) play better coverage against this UConn spread stuff; it'll still be against UConn but an improvement from last week would be nice to see and help the optimism.

NORFLEET...RETURN ONE ALREADY....also, catch the ball when not returning one to the house.

Gardner, I hope to see with ZERO turnovers.  He needs to go out and prove to himself he can get a game in with out turning the ball over even if it means taking additional sacks or throwing the ball away.

Defense: "make more plays" between the 20s.

U-M 28, ND 24

Swarbrick and Brandon can't let an 8:00 PM start pass by their collective marketing genius, pull the switcheroo and the Wolverines show up in South Bend. Brian Kelly watches the Akron film and thinks he has a chance this time -- he's wrong.

and

UCONN 16, MSU 3

Since both teams were suddenly without an opponent, MSU decides to host Paul Pasqualoni's team in East Lansing. Coach P shrugs and says, "What the hell?" and calls the same game plan he had in mind for the Wolverines. It succeeds beyond his wildest expectations against the Spartans.

52-13 Meeechigan! 17-10 Notre Dame,

I'm guessing that we see a renewed vigor from the offensive line, maybe a Chris Bryant sighting. Two 100 yard rushers, neither named Devin. I can dream.

35-20 ND Frank Clark will have a solid game, prove I'm right that its hard to get pressure on quick short pass teams like ND and Akron. Pass coverage needs to tighten up to allow the dline to break through, no more 7-10 yd deep CBs from the line of scrimmage crap.
