Posbang for Tickets II

Submitted by Seth on
I wanted these to go to a mod but they all have tickets already. I can't use them either because I had a family issue come up. So: tell us what's the one game you weren't at (in your lifetime) that you wish you could have attended and why. Most pos votes by 10 am tomorrow gets the tix. They're printable so enter if you will be responsive on email and confident you can print them. Or say "no entry"

I was teaching my girlfriend at the time, who had very little knowledge of football, and even less, her parents were die-hard state fans, as hey both attended state.

Anyways as the game wound down and we called the late timeout, she was confused as to why we called the timeout when we did. I explained, "in football every second counts"  sure enough....

TOUCHDOWN MANNINGHAM!!!!!

No entry, but 1995 vs. Ohio State.  To see a Michigan back run for 313 yards against an OSU team is something I can't even imagine today. It must have been wondrous to behold, much like Lily Potter's flower turning into a fish.

I've only missed one home game since 1979 (1994 Penn State -- standing up in a wedding in Columbus fergodssakes)and I've been to every road Ohio, ND and State game in that span and to me nothing compares to that one. We were struggling coming in and Ohio appeared to be a juggernaut. I remember Ohio taking the opening kickoff and scoring a field goal and then as soon as we got the ball it was Biakabutuka around left end for 12 yards, up the middle for 8 and it never stopped the whole game. A young Chuck Woodson made an interception at the end to seal the win. He intercepted along the eastern sideline and the coaches wanted him to take a knee immediately. Instead he took off across the field and started running it back up the western sideline and stepped out right into the Michigan bench where he was subsequently mobbed by his teammates. My favorite game of all time.

UTL I or OSU 1997, I really can't decide. If I'm 7 because it's 1997 then UTL (mini-Justin would get over it: the Wings were more important to me at that age anyway), if I'm my current age no matter what it's 1997.

I know we all really appreciated the offer, Seth, and best wishes to you and your family in general and especially your mom tonight.

No entry for me, I'm out of town.

My parents didn't take us kids to the '97 Ohio State game. Went in '95 and every one after that, but not '97. I don't even remember who they took, but I've never let them forget it. I'm pretty sure I went to every home game that season except Iowa and OSU.

Close runner up would be to be a ghost of some kind and sit behind my parents at the '73 Ohio State game, when my dad flipped out on my mom's sorority sister's Buckeye boyfriend sometime during the second half. Girl brings a Buckeye, the guy is a total dickcheese, and my dad goes into a steady, "this is my senior year and I'm going to get to go to the Rose Bowl if we win" slow burn until he couldn't take it anymore. Finally, he just goes off, the guy gets kicked out, and the sorority sister never talked to my mom again. I've heard the story from about four or five angles now, and to be able to see it live...

This game is actually one that might, in the immediate short term, probably would have been easier on me if I had NOT gone to it, strangely enough - I missed all of a friend's wedding and most a reception to attend this game. Fortunately, I was not supposed to be in the party or anything like that, but when I finally walked in on the tail end of the reception, I walked in on a lot of non-sports people who didn't understand how Braylonfest could be all that exciting. It took a while to fully repair that particular relationship, but I never apologized per se.

I went to school at UM from 2005-2011 and I only missed one home game in that entire span: the Wisconsin games from that magical 2006 season. I still regret it to this day because a) it was a big win for us and b) it's the only blemish on my student attendance record. Why didn't I go, you may ask? Because my girlfriend at the time (who didn't understand the appeal of football) wanted to do something for Sweetest Day instead, so I sold our tickets. I was a complete idiot.

-5° wind chill. 50mph wind gusts. Driving sleet. Mudpit field. 5-0 score. All-time most bogus attendance announcement. Going to this game would have meant I never missed a game when I was in school. Instead, I live with the shame of being a wuss.

I'm sure you meant football but this is "no entry" anyway. I was Freshmen at U of M and some of my hall mates made the trip to New Orleans. I was living in Low Cash so didn't join them. The last game didn't turn out the way we wanted (nor would we have the banner flying if it did) but would have been a great experience. Kicked myself for a long time for not finding a way. Sure, I could have done Indianapolis a couple years ago but... different venue, different time in my life...

Braylon-fest.  Sold my ticket for 50$ and watched it from south quad.  Things we do for women...ugh.  Biggest regret of my college career.

/no entry, I'm working now until tomorrow AM

I have 2 extra tickets in WSCB section. Free to anyone that can tell me the original name of Short's ControversiAle (which is one of my favorite beers). I can also email the tickets for download.

My son was going to go to UTL 1 with his grandfather but he tweaked his ankle that morning in his football game so he decided to stay home. Also, his mom made him go to bed with about 5 minutes left in game.

97 rose bowl. I was only 7 but obvious answer is obvious. Game I am most proud for attending and staying throughout: '08 Northwestern. After that experience, I feel like it really cannot get any worse. No game in the last 7 years has come close

That just seemed like such a fun game to be at. A game where you were groan at a lot of mistakes that were made. But at the end to be at the one second slant to Manningham all the ups downs make the game a great game. No entry.

I was trying desperately to go to UTL I, but my commander wouldn't grant my leave. Instead, I worked 12 hours that day and came home and watched it on TV in my living room by myself. I was exhausted but wouldn't let myself go to sleep until the clock read 00:00. Glad I stayed up.

2008 Wisconsin.

By the 4th game, it seemed pretty clear that the season wasn't going to be pretty. So I figured I might as well just rage extra hard before kickoff, with little concern for remembering the game.

Ultimately though, I ended up passed out by a dumpster in the Hardware/Sushi parking lot that day.

So unfortunately, I never made it to the stadium. And because 2008 Wisconsin was the most exciting home game that took place while I was a student (2006-2010), I really wish I'd have not f***ed up and actually been there.

And all because I got too inebriated. But, needless to say, I learned my lesson.
