Has anybody ever seen an action like this?

Unfortunately Pooles play is gonna be tarnished by the dirty knee grab on Ja morant last night. Especially after Steve Kerr was saying Dillion brooks broke the code now ja hurt by pooles dirty play

Full disclosure: I haven't seen the clip.

You've clearly made up your mind, though. Maybe you could share a video? Give us a step-by-step description of what happened? Use some apostrophes and capital letters where appropriate?

EDIT: Based on a couple of viewings it doesn't look good for Poole.

I watched the clip on ESPN - he literally stripped Morant of the ball a split second before and looked like he was applying pressure to try to get him to turn it over.  The ball was loose and he looked like he was moving into try to grab the ball.

One angle looked like it was incidental contact, but on a different replay angle, it looked like Poole was making a swiping motion, like he was trying to knock the ball loose again, but instead he had his hand on Morant's knee. Seems like a typical physical trap play, but unfortunately he had his hand on Morant's knee - if he grabs him by the waist and pulls him, we aren't having this discussion.

I think the Grizz are making a big deal about it because of Bane's absolutely dirty knockdown of an extended Payton.  If the Grizz try to "retaliate" against Curry or Poole in the next game, I hope the NBA is prepared to suspend some players for a significant period of time.

Brooks, Bane. Whatever.

If you think that Poole schemed to be in that exact situation to intentionally try to hurt Morant by pulling on his knee, then nothing I say is going to change your mind.

Didn't seem like an intentional play to hurt him to me. Physical play, yes, but a purposeful dirty play...I don't see it. Also, the force of his tugging was NO WHERE NEAR enough force to cause significant knee damage.  Your take is a bad one all the way around.

EDIT: Video take from a doctor on the potential of a knee injury:

Yeah, it kinda is...  If you expect anyone to believe your post, it's on you to explain why.  You didn't, and now you're getting all butt-hurt because some are calling out what many believe to be a bad take.

One of the worst things about the Blog recently (growing over the last couple of years), is the lack of summary, explanation, and/or corroborating evidence in posts.  Too many posts say things like 'man, what Joe said was awesome' - and then maybe post a link and nothing else.  Dude - fuck off.  Not everybody is so interested to go chasing down the interests of someone else.  Explain yourself by providing a summary, maybe cut/paste a relevant snippet...

I didn't see any 'reaction' in that clip!  Once the play was stopped, Morant was glaring at the guy in front of him, not at Poole.  And Poole's grab, while deserving of a foul, did not cause or contribute to any tearing of ligaments or tendons in Morant's knee.  It was a momentary swipe that didn't impede motion in any significant way.

And again, it's pretty clear he committed a foul, but it wasn't in any way an intentional attempt at hurting anyone.  That's a bad take...

Nice...  That's going to take some really quick thinking to defend.  The switch has to be immediate and without thought, or one of them will bomb you into oblivion while 10' away from you.

Physics!  Turning Curry's momentum into angular momentum to transfer to Poole while they rotate around makes it seem like they're as stationary as any other screen/cut, but it actually allows Poole to cut in any direction with more speed than normal (starting from standstill).

I think you don't see this kind of thing often in sports because teammates are rarely so close to each other, and usually spend that time avoiding each other (football DBs trying to avoid running into each other, or WRs on crossing routes).  Closest I can think of is "Bush Push" and similar pile pushing.  Maybe somewhere in pairs figure skating where they transfer momentum?  I really hope its some physics nerd on the team that came up with it (or, more likely, borrowed it from some high school or international tape).

I wonder if that could be considered a moving screen?  Poole is setting a screen, but once Curry starts pulling him around into the path of the defender, I could see that being called a moving screen if the defender hadn't pulled up to not run into him.

If I were the defender, I would collide with Poole and force the refs to call something.  Of course that is dangerous because if they don't call anything, Curry will be wide open.
