Peppers redshirt or worse??

Submitted by Talcelm on
I know we just got the info on Morgan and his redshirt BUT....Peppers is no longer listed on official depth chart? Anyone have any additional info other than the "Hot Dog Vendors" statement of his status still "not defined" and won't be with team this weekend for IU.

We know he suffered a fairly serious knee injury. At this point it isn't worth it to bring him back to the field and risk further injury, along with the obvious eligibility benefits.

If anybody had any info it would probably be front paged because Peppers. I hope he gives us the three years but if he's a baller the next two with Lewis as his wingman I'll be happy.

I think unless we make a great coaching hire, we may have seen the last of Peppers in a Michigan uniform.  Don't neg. me, however, why would be stay?  He liked Hoke and without a great new coach he really has nothing to gain by staying.

I love Michigan, but I've watched this regime totally screw up the potential of guys like Jake Ryan and Devin Gardner. He needs to maximize his draft stock. It's the same reason recruits are jumping ship ... this program is heading nowhere. I hope he stays, but I certainly would understand if he left.

I think they did fuck up with Ryan. They should of left him on the outside. Imo he's only getting the acknowledgment cause of previous years. Dt has a lot to do with why we are week up the middle but jake is out of position on many plays rather it's bad reads or over pursuing.

This comment is so asinine that I felt it necessary to create an account and respond after having read this blog for 6 years. I know you're just one person, but comments like this make me feel like we as a fanbase are getting exactly what we deserve. How on earth do you rationalize being outraged and embarrassed when recent editions of Michigan Football seem to quit at the slightest onset of adversity, then turn around and question a promising young athlete's sanity after his hypothetical decision to remain enrolled at the university to which he committed in the first place?

Maybe Peppers is proud to don the block M and represent the University of Michigan on Saturdays. Maybe he plays for his teammates. Maybe he wants to be part of the solution and not just flee at the first sign of trouble. Maybe, just maybe, Peppers relishes the challenge and will work his butt of to overcome adversity.

But no, you're right. What an idiot. He should definitely transfer and sit out a year because the school he plays for is having a losing season.

If he transfers it means he has to sit out a year, which means that he wouldn't be playing his first year of college football until 2016.  It would also mean he wouldn't have played competitive football in 2 years.

If the kid wants to play in the NFL, and duh, of course he does, his best bet is to stay at Michigan.  Our offense is a tire fire, but the defense is fine.  If he plays as good as his potential says he should (and his injury heals up) the other crap going on in the program shouldn't affect him.

He may WANT to transfer.  But if he wants to get to the NFL, his best path is to stick it out here IMO.

Might be making a bigger deal out of it than the fact he's not coming back this year due to injury, so he's not on the depth chart.  I like to think if he's gone from the program, the last thing that would be updated is a depth chart.

As everyone knows, of course, the depth chart is not the depth chart per se, but I would hope that if it is indeed bone chips as has been discussed with Peppers, they simply get set up with the surgery to repair it and say that this is what happened. The speculation that the silence surrounding these things seems to cause is getting rather unhealthy for discussion around the blogosphere. Again, I wouldn't determine anyone's status based on the published depth though or infer anything from it.

You are correct and not trying to stir the pot is just seems abnormally quiet and weird, especially out of this regime, about your #1 recruit. And as some have said the depth chart would be the last thing to be updated if he xfered BUT nothing would surprise me trying to keep it quiet if he did choose that option.

The new coach, whomever he is, should hire Charles Woodson as a "student manager".  Charles, your alma mater needs you more than ever.

To me like others have stated, this keeps getting more and more fishy, although he did try and warmup just two weeks ago at home, nothing would surprise me anymore...I don't think he would transfer because basically counting this years injury, he wouldn't play football for two years.

Let's force Woodson into retirement and hire him as the new head coach, can somebody make a CC post for this?

I'm having flashes of Jason Kidd here, he can be AD by next year!

My sources are that he has Ebola and has been quarantined.  I didnt want to release this to the board but since you asked if someone had info, I felt compelled to admit it.
