Here’s one for you:

Remember the Army game in 2019? A lot of people were critical of Michigan going 100% run in the second half, mostly ineffectively. I was one of them, explicitly saying that Harbaugh surely ordered Gattis to keep the ball on the ground.

That’s literally impossible here. And even if one argues (I am not) that Moore made the run calls because Harbaugh would have made them… well, they were the right calls.

Harbaugh was building the team the right way then, too, and I didn’t see it. (Getting Moore and rewriting the blocking schemes preceded by Gattis and Warinner also a plus he gets credit for).

Pretty clear today that a very Harbaugh-like all-run strategy was the winning strategy.

I think that I both see the reasoning for it based on the defense and the only way Penn State could generate an explosive, but I also disagree. This staff has been immune to running play action, especially on early downs, all year long. Just look at the pass interference play aka one of two called pass plays in the second half. In the first half even straight throws on first down were successful.

Yes, it was a great win and yes, it was a somewhat reasonable strategy. I just think the game didn't have to be that close with just a sprinkling of creativity. They could have still run on 3rd and long to protect JJ and I love the team and it was a great victory on the road, but the coaching on offense made things more difficult than it had to be in the second half IMO.

Okay so, the second half play calling may have been…less than optimal,

BUT

After that interview on the field, I’m loving me some coach Moore!

Maybe just, not as acting head coach 😂

Man have Harbaugh coach till he is 66. Have Moore take over and have Hart as OC. Michigan needs to raise their cap on paying assistants. So they can keep guys longer. I'm sure that Minter would love to be a HC someday but imagine if they could pay this man 3m a year with bonuses to be a DC. Wouldn't be a bad gig for 30 years if you ask me.

I had many things to say about the coaching, after seeing coach Moore's interview, went into PSU with the conference and refs trying to take them down and came out with a win, Bet
