Does anyone know how good Penn St. really is? I didn't get a chance to watch the USC game but I heard much of their offensive philosophy ended up being either give it to Barkley or throw it deep and let one of their receivers make a play.

I watched most of it. That was pretty much it. In the first half they were getting nothing through the air. McSorely was completely inaccurate, and didn't complete a pass until the last play of the first quarter. But then they started hitting all their deep passes suddenly. Until the fourth quarter when they couldn't again.

Depends on the opponent. That game plan isn't likely to work against Michigan this year with an extremely talented and experienced secondary while we blitz the pants off of McSorely. Sure, it worked for them against USC. But "works for them," is situational. I mean the saying goes... "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth."

Not sure about Gisicki but he's a pretty great tight end. I think McSorley will come back down to earth next year, he had a lot of luck on his side that is probably not going to last.

But, I am firmly expecting them to beat us next year unfortunately, especially if it's a night game which I'm sure it will be. If we had them at home I'd feel better. It should be a good game, though.

The loss of Godwin at least gives teams like MSU at Spartan Stadium or a crossover from the West to beat them along with OSU, and keep them out of the divison race. I did not like seeing Franklin get to the conference champioship game and Rose Bowl before Harbuagh and I'm ready for all that to stop and reverse course now, please.

It was like the 2011 UM offense where Denard and Fitz would make a play in the run game and Denard would just chuck it up into double coverage and Hemingway would inexplicably make a play on the ball deep. Rival fans are left screaming "how the fuck does that keep working!?" and yet somehow it does way more often that it statistically should. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ College football man.

Off topic, but in the Fleck presser, I swear he said, "since I got the job this weekend." Wasn't Claeys fired Tuesday?
