This will hurt them a little.

At least he put the team and position. It could have been "Football Player Goes Pro" or "Athlete Progresses in Career" or "Human Conducts Activity".

Does anyone know how good Penn St. really is? I didn't get a chance to watch the USC game but I heard much of their offensive philosophy ended up being either give it to Barkley or throw it deep and let one of their receivers make a play.

Not true. McSorley completed 2 of his first 3 passes to....USC.
January 6th, 2017 at 4:14 PM ^
And considering that PSU's 49 points is the second most points scored against USC with an 18 point gap to third most I'd say that offensive philosophy works for them.
How many points do you think Michigan would have scored?
January 6th, 2017 at 4:23 PM ^
I'm not sure, because like I said, I did not watch the game. I do think that USC would have had a harder time scoring on Michigan though. 52 and 49 points is ridiculous and at some point stops being just good offense, but also poor defense.
January 6th, 2017 at 7:20 PM ^
Well according to fancy stats, USC's defense was 36th overral in defensive FEI and 20th in Defensive S&P+. So it isn't like USC's defense was that poor.

Sure, but they did win 11 games, lost to Pitt and USC by 3 points each, won the big ten championship. I'd say that worked for them.

Not sure about Gisicki but he's a pretty great tight end. I think McSorley will come back down to earth next year, he had a lot of luck on his side that is probably not going to last.
But, I am firmly expecting them to beat us next year unfortunately, especially if it's a night game which I'm sure it will be. If we had them at home I'd feel better. It should be a good game, though.
The loss of Godwin at least gives teams like MSU at Spartan Stadium or a crossover from the West to beat them along with OSU, and keep them out of the divison race. I did not like seeing Franklin get to the conference champioship game and Rose Bowl before Harbuagh and I'm ready for all that to stop and reverse course now, please.

It was like the 2011 UM offense where Denard and Fitz would make a play in the run game and Denard would just chuck it up into double coverage and Hemingway would inexplicably make a play on the ball deep. Rival fans are left screaming "how the fuck does that keep working!?" and yet somehow it does way more often that it statistically should. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ College football man.

2011 Michigan in some ways. I just couldn't put my finger on it, but you nailed it.

IMO It's thread worthy.
Opponent in 2017: Check. Trap game on the road between MSU and PSU.
Stud RB: Check. Back-to-back 1,000+yard seasons.

I'm happy for this. Playing IU in Bloomington without Redding is a good thing.

Shocking he would not want to stay another year and get developed by Mike D!

Maybe he meant this weekend that's starting now? Weekend starts early for a coach in the dead period whose team is done playing for the season.
