As sweet and savory as it is to see Pete eat a piping hot plate of crow (and it is savory). I give him some credit for owning his comments and say "Jim Harbaugh shut loud mouth's like me up", or some variation of this. Not that he has a choice, because Jim absolutely did do that. But I give Pete some credit for owning up to his ridicule and acknowledging a job well done from a coach that he made his hay hating on for a few seasons now.
BTW, I agree with him on this one. Jim should absolutely win the NCOY. What he's accomplished this season is nothing short of phenomenal given where the program was one year ago from today.

Agreed. As loathsome as Pete is, I respect a guy who will give credit when it's due even if that means having to own a lot of shit he's said in the past. I must be doubly hard for him when that credit has to go to a guy outside the SEC which Pete clearly believes is the greatest collection of football teams in the history of the game year in and year out.
He's a blow hard that gets paid to get clicks. He's good at that part of his job. No one is forcing him to say this. He's still a dick most of the time but good to see he's able to be something other than a dick all of the time.

Pundits like Finebaum need hyperbole for ratings.
Jim was just as good a coach in 2015 when he turned around a moribund program, and 2016 when he had UM in the playoffs (if not for the robbery in Columbus).
If not for the punt 6 in 2015 and officiating atrocity in the Shoe in 2016, 2 games UM absolutely deserved to win and were snakebitten in, the entire narrative around Harbaugh would have already been different.
All he's done is win 10 games a year (when it's not a Covid season) and happened to run into OSU during their historically greatest era - led by an amoral, win at all costs sociopath (Meyer), and an angry, resentful, obsessed Napoleon (D'antoni) at MSU who prepped for 1 game a year against him.

We all have had issues with Finebaum for all of his criticism of Harbaugh, but I at least give him credit for admitting he was wrong and singing Harbaugh and Michigan's praises.
The next best thing to beating your rivals/enemies is to win them over to your side.
