OT: Six women file sex assault suit against Tennessee

Submitted by Leaders And Best on

Six women filed a federal lawsuit on Tuesday claiming the University of Tennessee has created a student culture that enables sexual assaults by student-athletes, especially football players, and then uses an unusual, legalistic adjudication process that is biased against victims who step forward.

But let's focus on the real problems: spring football trips to Florida and satellite camps.

I like to learn something new every day. Last week I learned that talking about sexual assault in a thoughtful, rational manner on MGoBlog is not something I will ever try again.

I also learned last week that approximately 6% of every human on the planet is born with an extra nipple. FYI...

I have one. I think. It's right where a second set would go if I were a dog or cat or something. It's hard to notice, but it does have a single hair that grows out of it. My wife didn't even notice until I flat out told her, so I would get no offers for the circus or anything. When I did show her, though, she was tripped out and seemed fairly convinced it was a nip. I guess I kinda like it.

Wow, I am surprised this is the first you've mentioned your extra nipple. If I had one, I would milk it for all it's worth. OK, I wouldn't talk about it the whole time maybe; I'd avoid the topic like 2% of the time. Now that I think about it, maybe you have mentioned it and I just skim the board too quickly.

When I was a youth i was developing a pretty serious third nipple directly below my left one next to my belly button. Over time however the nipple disappeared and now there isn't even hte faintest sign of it.

Stop clogging up the board with such trivial matters!

We've got to rectify the serious issue concerning spring footbal trips and satelite camps that is the vain of humanity! - Signed, SEC.

I think what's problematic about that part of it is what seems to have played out at Vanderbilt, where one of the hostesses thinks she's innocently "talking to recruits" but some of the recruits are expecting, maybe have been led to expect, something else.

It's hard enough negotating that stuff on your own; when the most powerful man on campus is making the arrangements, it really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone when it goes wrong.

If not, is his alleged victim one of the plaintiffs?

Immediately after he wins the Super Bowl is a brilliant time to file suit, by the way.  Very well timed on the plaintiff attorny's part.

(This is not the sort of suit that you just file any day; you take your time; you collect your evidence; you interview witnesses; you organize your argument--and then, if you're ready, you file immediately after the Super Bowl . . . .)

(and I'll admit this probably isn't the thread for it but...)

Does he get paid by the mention when he drops a sponsor's name into an interview like that? Or is it a sort of freebie that weighs in his favor when its time to negotiate a new contract?

I honestly don't know how these spokesperson contracts work.
