OT: Purdue reinstates Siller
But Marve will start, so this is probably not a big deal.
The dude torched us in a conflagration so profound...and that was the last time the defense played 3-3-5, wasn't it? Hell, this is the only reason Hope put him back on the team...to beat Michigan...
*deep breaths, deep breaths*
Ok, that's down the road a spell, but if this guy has his head screwed on right, he could be the better option at QB for Purdue...
I don't know if it was the last time we ran the 3-3-5, but it may have been the first. It was also with different defensive personnel and a different DC. Our defense will be a lot different, and if they're going to play Siller just to beat us, then Hope is a worse coach than I thought.
Also, that was back when we didn't have an offense, and we still almost won. Think what our offense will do to them this year...
Hell, this is the only reason Hope put him back on the team...to beat Michigan...
They didn't have a problem beating us without him last year. Just a nice backup for them at RB after Bolden tore his acl.
We're fucked.
Wait, what was that? I was busy watching Justin Siller score another touchdown.
I don't like the sound of this.
A buddy of mine claims that we switched to a 3-3-5 a week before that game back in '08 and says that's the reason we let him put up 48 on us. He's convinced Siller is still a chump and we can punish him (if he even gets the nod).
Spot on.
I know the 3-3-5 is new this spring...so I'm not sure what that's about, but he typically knows his shit. Until Magnus tells me I'm wrong, I'll believe him.
No...he's saying your buddy is spot on. We switched to the 3-3-5 just before that game, which is why they scored so many points. After that game we went to somewhat of a 4-2-5 to finish out the season.
Well it seemed a bit snarky after all the negs I got. Maybe I'm just captain obvious then?
you aren't.
He won't play QB, but he is too good to not play somewhere. At 6'4, he would make a good reciver. Damn purdue is looking good for this year. Untill Bolden went down. If they find a RB they will have a decent offense.
we are scared of Purdue now
Oh noes!
Back again.
Shady's back

It's the return of the
Jedi?
You didn't just say what I think you did, did you?
word would be "Mack"
I was pretty sure this was going to be about Freakbass.
Freakbass is scared of really big drums.
...at the end of the day, Purdue "Purdon't." (Especially against us this year.)
If I remember correctly, I believe Brian was left snipping shoots off every tree in Ann Arbor after expressing exactly this attitude last year...
Not that I'm worried or anything.
for when we beat them, and Rich gives Hope the stare down mid field post game.
yet we still should have won that game.
I will never forget the feeling in the pit of my stomach when that lateral killed us.
We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own; your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile.
and informative header there. Not to mention I had no idea what I was clicking when I clicked the link. Just sayin...
All the better to make a direct participant in the 2008 game feel redemption.
Maybe I'm crazy, but I feel like our D-line next year should be pretty solid. We don't have Brandon Graham anymore, but we do have a good group of guys that should, combined, make some noise, especially against a team like Purdue. Can't double team them all...
Thought this was going to be another em0 exposed/subsequent meltdown thread
EDIT: what ever happened to Mommatheregoesthatman?
i was right with you on that one
That guy still gives me nightmares. Still can't wait to see the beatdown in person down there when Rodriquez lets Hope know who's going to own him in Big Ten play from now on.
"What has Space rampaging hockey polar bear done now" and then reflexively smile? The real story about Siller is somewhat depressing compared to new adventures of Space rampaging hockey polar bear.
Why do you think that there's "no way" he will play QB? He played really well at that position against us. The worst part of this thread is thinking seriously about the Purdue matchup this year. I mean, did we ever have to think twice about them before? I can't wait to get back to FckShtUp mode.
OK, the guy had a great game against us. No doubt about it. Do you know what he did for the rest of the season?
38/72 (52.7%) 230 yds (3.19 yards/attempt) 0 TD's 2 INT's passing
45 rushes for 90 yards (2.0 ypc) and 1 TD.
And then he took a year off. In the meantime, Purdue picked up a QB who is better than him. If Siller plays over Marve this year, I think we can read that as a good thing.
From the title, I was certain that you were being crushed by Hockeybear's mind-made hockey stick of doom.
What a let down.
