msu had 3 wins and their schedule rotation was actually in favorable mode this year.

They are about to get wiped clean in state recruiting this year.

They are done.

and, because, I haven't seen it brought up before (maybe it's too speculative), but, what does everyone think will be Harbaugh's reaction when Morris (almost inevitabely) asks for his release? Does anyone think he'll stick around for a 5th year, or will the coaching staff ask him back? Will Harbaugh try to limit his choices? There's no denying that there are huge QB holes at msu and maryland. In addition to the opportunities that the grad transfer rule gives the students, I love it, because of all the speculation that it opens up.

Seriously, who cares?  The guy couldn't beat out Kizer, who sucks.  And before anyone says he wishes we had Kizer instead of Speight (and those people exist), realize that Kizer lead his team to 4 wins.  With help from a backup QB.

ND QB's SUCK!!!

so we can talk about the remote possibility that a mediocre quarterback may transfer to MSU, Wisconsin or god forbid Rutgers and make them a powerhouse.

the large number of  QBs-transferring would ever spread to other positions?

Aside, the weirdest one ever is Thomas Rawls transferring to Western or Central with no playing time and/or no room at M and suddenly boom he's in the NFL playing a big role.

Second weirdest one is Derrick Green, I figured he'd go somewhere he was going to be guaranteed A#1 status, even if it was a smaller school,  and take as many carries as he could stand.  Instead he went to TCU and got less playing time than he did at M.

I think he'd be even better at Auburn.

The flexbone is all about instantaneous decision-making, so experience plays a large part in success. It's hard to come in and excel in your first year.

Auburn's running spread is all about QB athleticism, which Zaire definitely has. Heck, they had a converted DB lead them to the national champsionship game mostly because he was a fast runner.

I am in the camp that thinks that while Notre Dame was within its rights to restrict his transfer, the better move is to take away any transfer restrictions.  I hope Zaire ends up on MSU's squad, and beats Notre Dame.  And the pundits begin declaring that "MSU is back!".

And then I hope that MSU sludgefarts its way to another 3-9 season, with its only other wins against Bowling Green (on a controversial call) and Penn State.

I do care, btw, if MSU gets more QB depth.  Zaire looked like a world-beater as a freshman until he got injured, and I don't like things that might help MSU.
