OT: MSU FB Loses Two More Commits

Submitted by FauxMo on

After losing Naquan Jones (4* DT) yesterday, MSU has lost two other players today: Jonah Morris (3* OLB), and Abdul Adams (3* RB). They have dropped down to #15 in 247's composite rankings for the 2016 recruiting class. UM's class is now ranked higher by Scout, Rivals, and 247.

Can this all be blowback from the Nebraska game? That seems unlikely. But that's a lot to lose in 24 hours for apparently unrelated reasons.

P.S. I know, we/I should absolutely not care about MSU's recruiting, I sound like they do with Little Brother Complex, etc. I, personally, find this information interesting and think others might too...

It affects them on the field which in turn affects us because we play them every year. Some may complain about it but this blog's number one pastime is complaining about MSU or Ohio State threads

This is only significant if Dantonio is leaving. I think Dantonio leaving MSU would be crazy, but college football is crazy especially coaching hires.

He may want to return his alma mater to relevance.

Only the most delusional of Sparty slappies thinks that Dantonio has an edge on Harbaugh at a coaching level, in terms of assistants, in recruiting. Add in the Michigan Difference, national brand etc. and he's staring at a monster with Harbaugh here.

Perhaps better to take Spurrier's money and try to reclaim something at the other USC.

Well, you see, they told all those kids they were selling results rather than hope, and the kids can probably look at the games on the field and determine whose results they are going to want to buy for the next four years.

I wish I could find the exact quote but after the Oregon game Dantonio was asked about the recruiting going on (obviously it was a big recruiting weekend for them) and he said something like "it's going great. Everybody wants to come to Michigan State to be a part of the success." HAHAHA

MSU is now regressing back to the mean, which is an annual 7-9 win team. Their best years during the Dantonio era are behind them, '13 & '14. It's a good time for him to bail because it only gets harder from here for Dantonio & Co.

I thought it was evenly played game where we were going to win it because of special teams.  Wouldn't say anyone out coached the other.

Kenny Allen has been a huge find and they got the #1 kicker a few years ago and hes horrible now.

And then hell froze over with 10 seconds left and I don't remember at least 48 hours after that.

It was the other way around...  even with unprecedented ref gifts.

THEY were "kinda lucky" to be in a position to win, after our DL was put on notice that anyone falling into anyone would be called against Michigan.

No, I don't call that outplaying us on our home field.  I call that the higher ranked team being given every accomodation possible, and some that no one would have previously thought possible.

Commits psychology is nearly as soft as the fanbases.

Cmon guys it was a serious shucking but you have to work thru it.

By the way there are rumors there prized possession Auston Robertson won't qualify academically either.

Well Naquon Jones is all Ole Mi$$$$$ crystal balled the past 12 hours so we know exactly why that one happened.

The RB is crystal balled to Maryland over MSU which is just a slap in the face.  Talk of "being homesick" (he hasn't left the state yet last I checked).

The other guy is a low 3 star type.
