OT: Jerel Worthy to the NFL

Submitted by I Wrote a 4 Wo… on

Not surprisingly, Jerel Worthy is bringing his hatred of Missouri to the NFL

Surprisingly, there's a rumor that Edwin Baker is also leaving early for the NFL. A little less surprisingly than that, there's a rumor that Johnny Adams is also leaving early for the NFL.

Honestly, anything that makes Sparty worse off at this point makes me happier, we absolutely need to win this year. Players going pro + DC leaving = good news day for me, MSU wise at least.

Worthy is a great player, all biases aside, and he killed us this year. With an inexperienced center next year, it's very likely he would've killed us next year. It's definitely good for us that he's leaving and it sounds like it's good for him and his family. He'll most likely be a first round pick. Best of luck to him (yeah, I'm going to keep it classy on this one).

Edwin Baker has a kid and has been passed by a special talent (Le'Veon Bell), so while it's surprising, it's understandable.  His touches are only going down next season.

Johnny Adams will get a draft grade and then decide.  He too has a kid, so that's a factor.  I don't think he'll go, because he's a guy that could go pretty early in the draft if he bulks up and has another good season.

They're a rival, who is losing one of their best players. If you only want to know what's going on with Michigan and not Michigan's opponents then go to MGoBlue.com instead of MGoBlog.com By what you said, you'd also not want anyone to post when Urban Meyer got hired by OSU or when a kid Michigan is recruiting commits to a different school.

Is Worthy that special of a player? I felt like he disappeared when he wasn't getting offsides penalties. Gholston, while not necessarily a nice guy, seems like the real star on that defense.

Worthy is a good DT, but he does most of his damage timing snap counts.  He is called for a few offsides a game trying to do this.  I think that the hard-count ability of an NFL quarterback will take away some of his effectiveness but he will still be a solid NFL DT.  Late 1st round pick IMO.

He'll fade out of all memory other than the terrible tattoo that shows hate for the mizz tigers. Dantonio and the NFL don't mix. It's like going from a system without rules to a serious environment of professionalism.

I  heard about Worthy leaving on the radio this afternoon, but per the OP, I did not hear the rumor about Baker and Adams. Interesting, if true.

Actually, someone on 97.1 was talking about Worthy possibly being a 1st round pick. I don't don't know if someone who has an unnatrual hatred of a school in the state which hosts the geographic center of the continental United States is someone you REALLY want on your team. There's focus, and then there's someone in the corner of the locker room muttering, "Joplin? Dead! St. Louis? Dead! Hannibal?...."
