OT - Good news! Chris Carter is out at ESPN

HOF Buckeye and fall-guy advocate Chris Carter will no longer be contributing to ESPN's god-awful NFL coverage. Ray Lewis is also out, which frees up his time to help his son defend against the sexual assault charges that were filed against him last week. If his son's lawyers are half as good as his dad's, he should be all set.

Taking their places are Randy Moss and Charles Woodson, which is a significant improvement, which isn't saying much. It's nice to see Charles transition from the NFL to TV, before returning to AA as Harbaugh's DB coach. Thanks for getting something right for a change, ESPN!

He's the one I want gone most.

Taking off any Michigan homer hat I may have, I just can not see any redeeming merit to him as an analyst.  None.

There are Buckeye broadcasters and analysts with merit, whether we like it or not.  Joey Galloway is not one of them.

Yeah not so much dumping talent as say, flushing the toilet ...all these former players thrown on TV to give some sort of 'insight' balanced against that of the Syracuse nerd sitting next to him ..

Guess they're deciding to return to crappily paid sports journalists?

Now that people can subcribe to Hulu, NFLX, AMZN Prime, etc., they are starting to cut the cord.  ESPN is losing subscribers.  An industry stat is that only 20% of people are actually interested in sports on TV, but it is still one of the only things that people want/need to watch live, which is why ESPN is about 1/3rd of the cable bill.

Interesting title choice. I for one am more excited that Chuck is taking a spot than I am about carter or Lewis leaving.

Would Charles Woodson be any better? That guy has had trouble with the English language from Day One. He can barely stammer out a sentence, and I don't think he is capable of anything more, and probably not as much, as the guy he is replacing.

Who here hasn't had trouble with the English language on Day 1?

EDIT: This was in response to a now-deleted comment from Sean Ornery who doesn't think Woodson has command of the English language and won't do any better than Chris Carter.

Sean Ornery is a shadowbanned user who exists now only in the vacuum of the app. Why he continues to sully the comments on the app is beyond me, but apparently he still wants to have some sort of MGoPresence.

As a reminder to everyone, the app is unmoderated and there is no way to do it, so in the event you should want to point out the comments of someone on the app for potential moderation, myself and the other mods can only moderate people on the site itself.

This guy always gets me on the app. I'll read a comment from him and write one or two angry sentences in reply, only to realize I am responding to a deleted troll and my comment would just confuse the desktop's version of the thread. Is there no way to wipe users off both versions?

This blog is my go to on a daily basis for Michigan athletic news. I've been visiting the site for almost a decade now. It really is in dire need of a updated infrastructure though, Brian please, please consider. The old rules just don't apply anymore because of the popularity. We need a reddit style moderation of comments. We all love Michigan and we know the the cream rises to the top. I'm not sure how the site was recently updated? But besides the diligent moderators we need a Victors style moderation system which pushes the crap comments to the bottom Please believe me!
