OT - Football from a linebacker's view (literally)
Ever wonder what football looks like from the linebacker's perspective? Well Miami (YTM), put a helmet cam on a linebacker for their spring game. Pretty cool (and terrifying) to see the action from this angle. It's obviously a bit choppy, but I'm actually surprised by the quality of the video. In the likely event my embed fails: LINK
successful embed... woo hoo!!!
That's fantastic. Mixing in the "actual play" clips prior to the helmet cam clip was outstanding. Thanks for posting.
ya, i really wish they did that on all of them
Very cool vid!
SHOUTING
PEOPLE RUNNING EVERYWHERE
WHAT
SHIT SHIT SHIT
OW
to that clip. felt like hitting somebody as soon as i could. i would say with the exception of that last de-cleating hit, that #7 got the best of this guy (#52 i think) and i was also curious why he didn't penetrate more on some of those run plays with the guards giving keys that made it an obvious 'crash!' play.
...but didn't the World League of American Football already feature helmet cams 20 years ago?
This was nothing but exciting to watch. I am going to watch again.
I am about 6'3", 240 - how in the hell did I not play linebacker somewhere?...
Or a beast center back for the Oranje
The linebacker had some nice hits during this video. This type of thing would be absolutely awesome to have in every game.
Apparently his nickname is "The President"
He had a really nice hit in their spring game. This was posted /r/cfb couple days ago.
Where are the cash handouts from Nevil (orwhateverhisnamewas) before the game started?
Or, what, they just clipped out that part?
Thoughts:
1) Playing linebaker is fun.
2) Seeing a guard who is about to hit you is not fun (poor Kenny Demens in 2011)
3) Only 20 people showed up for Miami's Spring Game.
4) There needs to be more of these videos
Gotta love the music skips!
Really cool stuff. Would have been nice to see some more passing plays.
Game now needs to have helmet cams for cool tackling, runs, and receptions.
down in Baton Rouge.
Hilarity ensues.

That many hits can really shake your noggin. Not quite concussion level but one would have to be worried hitting like this in practice and in games during your college and pro career. I can see why some football veterans have brain problems as they age. Those hits may eventually catch up with you down the road.
