I am interested in THAT game. That is the one that I felt would happen all along. Both teams are real good; looking forward to that matchup, could be a classic.
In the words of Lee Corso, not so fast my friend! UCLA up 19 to 15 right now. The writers here talk about how lucky UCLA is with their opponents shooting so poorly against them. Watching them again, I'm starting to think it has more to do with their defense than luck. There are no easy shots against UCLA. Everything gets contested, even if its only a little bit. Even layups are tough against them, as M saw when they played and as we're seeing now with Gonzaga early in the half. I've seen Suggs, Nembhard, Kispert, and Ayayi miss layups at the rim already.
Timme seems to be doing alright but he's not getting the ball so much.

Baylor by 16 right now. This looks like every bit the blowout I thought it would be.
These all defense teams inevitably run into someone who can shoot.

that said, I love watching the Final Four...don't really have a rooting interest, but with Gonzaga vs UCLA, I think I'd be pretty happy to see the Zags blow up UCLA's rock fight style.

I'm not sure if i'm still upset we played at 10-something pm against a west coast team, not that the NCAA or CBS predicted that.
UCLA had been in the Indianapolis bubble for two weeks by the time we played them. Their bodies were not on Pacific time.
At that point in the tournament, did it really matter though?
Second weekend of the teams being in Indianapolis...UCLA being there for the First Four as well means they were there since the 17th...2 weeks before the Elite Eight game.
Not like those guys were on PT anymore at that point.

Other than the first 2 games after their covid pause and the slip up against Okla St in the Big 12 tourney, Baylor has been outstanding all year. Monday night should present a fantastic game
Should be playing Gonzaga. Still bitter.
I don't think we would've won, in fact, I think Gonzaga beats us by 10 or so. But we should be there and I'd be able to live with a loss versus this Gonzaga team unless we did something totally Michigan like blew a 20 point lead in the 2nd half.
I hate losing games we should win, to teams that aren't as good. If we lost to Gonzaga or Baylor, it wouldn't be great but I'd live with it.

Both these games will be blowouts. Not really watching but Baylor could give Gonzaga a game but I thought USC would give Gonzaga more of a game.

The UCLA game sucked the emotion out of me. Watching but don’t care who wins.

Houston’s coach is a known cheat. Though I am always happy for him cratering Indiana.
Baylor has had a steady basketball team the past 16 or so years, but the school is sketchy a hell with the stuff they cover up.
UCLA is the last school that needs to ever see another title. They have enough already. Also, success for them means the chance to turn back into a UNC/Kentucky/Duke monster.
UCLA actually has only one national title in the last 45 years (in 1995).
I would be OK with the Zags but I don't really want a small-conference team going undefeated. I like that the last team to do it was from a major conference, even if it came at our expense.
I will admit, I didn't get around to tuning in until the start of the second half as I was busy cooking, but I saw the score and muttered, "Well, yeah...." as a dong punch for Houston was rather expected.
We should be playing tonight. Still cant believe we blew that game. Sigh...
Definitely would have been great to add another Final 4 banner in Howard’s first year.
Without Livers, however, it’s clear that Baylor and Gonzaga are on another level than UM and everyone else this year.
With Livers, peak Michigan could have at least competed with both, but not sure we could have pulled off beating them both back to back.
