It's the 6 year!! anniversary of this mgohalloffame thread.

those were the days. i was just a mere reader back then.

Let me start off by saying I know what I am getting myself into here, but it has to be said, even if it is to only get my frustrations off my chest. I am sick of the douche bags on this site. And I think it is safe to assume they are michigan students.
I love this university, My aunt and uncle have season tickets and I have been going since I was 12. I always wanted to go to school here, but it's expensive and my grades weren't good enough in high school. But after living here and going to eastern, I have come to realize that the students that go here are over-privileged, whiny rich kids who don't know jack shit about the real world. It has been showing up more and more on this site, and for the longest time I tolerated people whining about posts not having the right title so they had to take 5 seconds to click on it and realize they didn't want to read it. Were so sorry we inconvenienced you, since you go to U of M you must be right and have everything your way. In fact, I'm sure that some people are going to bitch about me having to long of a post in the forum and I should have put this under diaries. Well guess what, piss off. I just witnessed a forum where people were complaining about the spelling. This blew my mind. Get a life people. Don't you realize people think you're douche bags? Well, it's because you are. Wow, so you go to Michigan, so you can spell, good for you. You think your shit don't stink. But if you were "all that" you would be going to Harvard, Wharton, or MIT., there are plenty of people smarter out there than you. So shut the hell up and post about sports or responses to OT topics, not how well you can spell, that's what first grade spelling bee's are for, or to complain about a topics title, nobody has dial-up anymore, I can click on every link on this site in under 5 min, deal with it
p.s. Also, for all you michigan students who think getting hit by a car won't hurt, the world does not revolve around you. I will stop for you if you are using a designated cross walk. but if you are crossing state street and are coming out from behind a car at a random spot, either be prepared to be hit or yelled at, and if you yell back, be prepared to have something thrown at you.
p.s.s. Do you think that talking about how jake long got drafted first overall will help RR get S. Henderson when he talks to him? I have always wondered if that was considered tacky to do?

I appreciate spelling and grammar nazis.  They do a public service by helping others not look like idiots.  I remember once in a bar in Venezuela, "Man Eater" by Hall and Oates was playing, and this waitress was walking around with a tray of drinks singing "Woooh Jessica!" instead of "Wooo here she comes!"  Yeah, "Woooh Jessica" over and over...  It was painful.  We all sat there, just giggling at how badly the poor gal was clowning herself.  Then I had to do it so I told her the actual lyrics and of course, she was offended that God  forbid  I correct her.

I just don't get people that get upset when others help them not look like idiots.  I mean, if I see a guy blow his nose and end up with snot on his shirt, why would he be upset that I tell him about it so he doesn't go around looking like a fool?

Point being - if you suck at spelling and grammar, be prepared to clown yourself when you write.  Appreciate those who correct you and learn from it, so next time, people can focus on the point you are making, and not on the fact that you can't spell simple words.

People are weird.

Your posts sound pretty jerkish.

1. Why do you care so much that somone is singing a song with the wrong words, happens all the time.  My wife does it and I think its adorable, I dont correct her and sound like a dick.   "We all sat there, just giggling at how badly the poor gal was clowning herself."  You guys sound like awesome dudes.

2. Its fine to help other people with grammar and spelling, but dont call them idiots or fools.

3. I find it funny that you care that much to write this post to make your jack ass point.

I know what type of guy you are because you use the word "clowning"

Most insufferable people:

1. MSU meatheads and vacuous bimbos telling people they got a 32 on the ACT and chose MSU over UM. And/or anybody that says MSU has prettier girls.

1b. Eastern kids thinking they're UM affiliated. Dude, you don't go here, party at your own college.

1c. Dearborn and Flint satellite sidewalk fans who tell everyone they're "Michigan alums."

What is so bad about fans like this? Anybody who loves M gets points for that, in my book. Life circumstances impact things like where you go to school...some douches go to Eastern, some go to Michigan. I'm totally ok with his post...but if he threw something at me on state street, he'd get it right back.

Dude is insecure and wants to protect the sanctity of his little club. That's basically what it boils down to. Hooray for you, internet poster! You get to be the excluder for once.

Totally agree! That would actually make a good new thread...."How did you become a Michigan fan?" I myself was born in Grand Rapids and lived also in Milford. Family moved from MI halfway through my time in 3rd grade. Spent time in UT, CA, and high school and college in FL. But what always "connected" me to the state of my birth was the Maize and Blue. Don't know how I became a fan. Neither of my parents were fans. Just got infected I guess.

nobody cares where you went/are going to college.  Michigan is a good school - congrats on going to college.  Now get a job when you get out of college and you will complete the extraordinary accomplishment of doing what, like, everybody on the blog has done.  And your family will probably through you a party where you eat hot dogs and cake and it will be splendid.  A real treat.

I've heard the "didn't have my major" reason given more than once - once by someone who works with speech difficulties and on another occasion was something related to biochemistry somethingorother.  Both times sounded like reasoning after the fact.   I don't really know because this fine school of ours is so goddamn big.

Yeah, those are reeeeally exclusive aims, bud. Every scholar I knew in high school couldn't wait to major in packing and crim justice. And if a sharp teenager dreams of being a hotel kingpin, they would go to Cornell.

Choosing an inferior, cost-neutral undergrad teases out poor decision making, inability to see the big picture, character flaws, & lack of competitiveness.

I knew a girl that got one of those packaging degrees from MSU.  She makes a damn good living designing the packages that make parents seriously consider suicide on Christmas morning.

She also looked really good naked.

As someone who's bedded more than a few, they are not hot; they're trashy, obnoxious and lack self-awareness for how low their capacity is. The good ones with a head on their shoulders transfer to UM after a year or two.
