OT: the "best" Mexican restaurant in every Power 5 town

In the spirit of welcoming our newest grad transfer, I present to you the following. Discuss.

Also, kudos to the boys in Tuscaloosa, who, when not craving Chuck E. Cheese pizza, are making a run for the border.

I usually hate everything about Alabama, but the fact that they have "Taco Bell" listed as their best Mexican restaurant makes me so happy.  Minnesota a close second for having the gall to use the name "Rusty Taco"

Idk how no one has figured this out yet, but @BigGameBoomer is a troll. Every "Best _____ in every Power 5 college town" list he posts is meant to piss people off and get reactions. It's similar to the dumb Barstool maps they release periodically to get people mad.

Stop taking these things seriously

Yes - He or she released a "best football team in 2021" by state yesterday --  MSU was Listed for MI, CInci was listed for OH, and Indiana was listed (over) ND in Indiana --- This is clearly trolling for clicks and retweets.

I do smile a bit because 'Bama does seem the butt of many of these -- pretty sure McD's or Wendy's was listed for Tuscaloosa for "Best restaurant" in a previous post.

You may have actually done yourself a favor.  I worked at the one that was on Telegraph Rd just north of Square Lake on the Bloomfield Twp/Pontiac border as a summer job in the early 90s.  We were *always* on the WDIV (channel 4) "dirty dozen" list of restaurants in Metro Detroit with abysmal health scores.  And I guarantee you that was entirely deserved.  When people walked in that I knew, I would try to find a way to tell them to leave.

I saw all kinds of mess going on there.  Servers dropping food on the ground, replating it and then just serving it up (that burrito sauce covered some nasty sins).  Nobody cleaned anything with bleach or anything remotely sanitary.  It was so bad.

There were some good fights out back though.  The GM (Kevin was his name) had no issues hiring dudes out of prison to wash dishes or (sometimes) work as line cooks.

USC and UCLA should both read, "Los Toros," if they have a generous definition of "town." My dad would never consider a trip to LA complete without a visit to Los Toros in Chatsworth.

And, what the hell? how is El Azteco not MSU's restaurant? That's bogus, man.

Yeah it’s a dumb list.  El oasis isnt even a restaurant, it’s a food truck.  They do have good food but El azteco should be the choice for location and roof top patio alone.  I ate at Los Amigos in AA out by the mall and I thought it was really good. Not really on campus though.

1) Pancheros sucks, unless it somehow greatly improved in the past few years. It was good ~20 years ago, before becoming (more of?) a chain.

2) Matt's in Austin is hard to argue, although I'm not in love with it.

3) La Catrina makes sense as well.

Is this list compiled by voting in a poll or just one guy looking at a googled list of Mexican restaurants in every P5 town and going “aha this will be the one!”?

If it’s decided by voting, I’m disappointed in AA residents and UM students. Chapala is hands down the best Mexican in AA, not even a question. Pancheros is utter garbage.
