OT: Ben Affleck Schadenfreude (re Batman v Superman)

Submitted by 74polSKA on

I have not seen Batman Vs Superman. I have no opinion regarding how Zack Snyder may or may not have ruined the movie. However, I do have an irrational dislike of Ben Affleck and enjoyed this video of him having a sad immensely. If you are a jerk like me, enjoy. Or discuss the movie, whether or not you will/have seen it, etc. NO SPOILERS!!!

Granted, I've heard only good things about Deadpool, but dear God... I HATE Ryan Reynolds. But I don't really know why. He has a punchable face?

I feel like Ben Affleck is one of those actors as well. But I dont mind him.

Gone Baby Gone, The Town, and Argo are all very good. I can understand the allure of wanting to be Batman, but this seemed like a no win situation. Kind of on the fence about seeing the movie but the wife wants to go.

This is the worst movie idea of all time. Its nothing but a cash grab. How about they remake some Hitchcock films. The Birds, Lifeboat, both could be improved upon so much with cgi. Or just watch TCM for some movies to remake.

"all other superheroes" Batman would get his ass handed to him in 9/10 match-ups. His paranoia gives him power over his counterparts because if it isn't in his utility belt than he's screwed; he has next to no back-up plan in the form of superpowers to bail him out in case he gets overpowered. And considering his secret identity, he has the most to lose, which is why he's so well prepared. If any other member of the Justice League were to shed their nice guy persona (something he lacks completely) and not take it easy on him, they'd rip him to shreds. Especially Superman, who holds back regularly. Writers tend to favor Batman because he's a heavy fan favorite.

So if all the other superheroes in the Justice League acted the exact opposite of the way they are portrayed in their comic books, they would beat Batman? You have actually proved my point for me. I didn't say Batman was the strongest or he had superpowers, I said he could win battles against all of them. Superman holds back regularly because that is his personality. In a winner-take-all battle, that is a character flaw that can be exploited.

It's possible Ben Affleck might actually favor Sparty after MSU had him give the football team a pep talk while part of Batman v Superman was being filmed in EL.

Apparently his speech centered around how he made a couple good movies and deserves more credit, despite the dozens and dozens of wildly mediocre ones over the years.
