I like most of the logos-- the ASU on the sleeves is a bit much.  The away uni looks pretty sweet, actually.  My biggest complaint-- WHY THE BLACK??? What is this, the NHL circa 1997??

How many teams in the Pac10 is Nike going to force black upon??? Obviously Oregon (and OSU doesn't count), but Washington, ASU... there is NO black at all in their color scheme-- and yet Nike takes it there.  What, did the child labor sweatshops in Vietnam screw up an order and produce 4x the intended black performance mesh?

Hey man you know what would be fukkin wikked sikk?  Fukkin blakk!  Fukkin badazzzzzzzzz.

Fuck Nike, man....ASU is one of the few schools that could pull off that maroon and gold combo and make it look good and now everything's gotta be blakk.  Kuz it's fukkin sikkkkk and wikked and badazzzz and the kidzzzz think it's totally fukkin sweeeeeeeeeeeet.

The sad thing is that outside of the black uniforms, the whole thing looks pretty decent.  I liked that Sparky logo they had but I concede it needed a major update and the pitchfork/trident/whatever looks fine.  The regular set looks good if you like to rip off of USC.  The basketball unis?  Pretty solid.  And in a vacuum, the black unis wouldn't look bad either - ON A TEAM THAT WEARS BLACK FOR REAL.

But noooooo - in NikeLand, everyone has to wear BLAKK every now and then and there has to be smoke and shit and an INTIMIDATING BACKGROUND so that the players get to feel like fukkin soldiers, man.  Warriors.

Let's see if everyone thinks they're still fresh and interesting in five or fifteen years.  Oh wait, the uniform will be redesigned again by then.

1) I hate change because I'm mid-40s with 2 teenage kids and change makes me cranky because it usually costs me money or makes me get off the couch to drive somewhere.

2) The new ASU uniforms remind me of a USFL team.

C) Don't even tell me you don't remember the USFL.

I really liked the old uniforms and helmet design, but right now I'm indifferent to the new maroon and white unis. Hate the black one's though. I just hope that on the random nights when I find an ASU/Wazzu game on late, they aren't wearing the blacks. I'd like to say I would turn the game off to protest the black uniforms, but that would be a lie...

I don't necessarily dislike the new uniforms, but ASU's existing color scheme is matched to its location very well.  The Miami Dolphins' uniforms are a good example of that idea in the NFL.

I think the uniforms look good, but considering that they play in ARIZONA, all black uniforms do not even seem safe.  Not the brightest thinking there.

Edit:  Lots of night games apparently.  I'm dumb.

apparently maryland is working on something as well, but no one knows what they'll look like.

I'm also curious to see how Nike ruins pro football uniforms...that is, if the nfl has any games this year.

It really seems like with the exception of Oregon, that Nike is getting exposure at the expense of diluting the brand of most of the schools that it outfits.  The kids like it, but what they like is Nike not uniforms/teams.  MSU is a great example, they are always trying to establish an identity, always getting back to "tradition" by doing something new.  Oregon is the exception because it has built an image of extreme logos/uniforms etc.

Another Nike black uniform.  *Yawn*.  Now the Sundevils will look like about fifty other teams in Division I-A.

This shitty uniform era can't end soon enough.  In all sports now, college and pro, about 50% of the teams look exactly the same other than the logo.
