Now THAT is a combover right there. CEO for Discover can't afford some decent plugs?
January 3rd, 2011 at 10:21 PM ^
I have enjoyed this game thus far, but not as much as I enjoyed your ridiculous combover. You're awesome.
January 3rd, 2011 at 10:27 PM ^
Thanks, needed that.

The college football world officially has no standing to make fun of RR's Josh Groban apreciation ever again.

I wish I could say this show is better than Ashley Simpson...but I really can't.

The only reason they pulled this together (probably last minute) was because they decided not to allow the Stanford Unit Marching Team (SMUT) to perform a halftime show that was planned to mock LeBron.
January 3rd, 2011 at 10:45 PM ^
The Orange Bowl traditionally has a flash-bang big-name halftime show. Stanford's band was likely only going to get a few minutes of time, if they got anything at all.
In fact, it seems likely the story was wrong and they cut Stanford's pregame show, because I seem to remember when Michigan was in the running for the Orange Bowl when I was in school, the MMB was worried about going there because the band didn't get to play a halftime show.
January 3rd, 2011 at 10:34 PM ^
So, um...that happened.

Michigan did force a 3-and-out on the opening drive of the second half, and Hemingway had a great return to the MSU 19. We then promptly went nowhere in three plays and missed another goddamn field goal.

McGuffie!!!
January 3rd, 2011 at 10:43 PM ^
looks more like the Stanford team I've seen this year.

Andrew Luck making plays.

Nice drive by Stanford. This is actually turning out to be a good game. The Orange Bowl normally hasn't been this exciting recently.

So, uh, don't bring your kicker with you Jim.

JH is going to kill the kicker.
January 3rd, 2011 at 10:46 PM ^
not sure we have even missed 2 xtra points in a game
January 3rd, 2011 at 10:47 PM ^
Stanford kicking game is unacceptable. Fire the special teams coach.
January 3rd, 2011 at 10:48 PM ^
And you can't find anybody who can make an extra point?
I just can't believe it.
January 3rd, 2011 at 10:51 PM ^
If Harbaugh doesn't come here, I hope he stays at Stanford. The NFL lacks the soul of college football, and I'd hate to see that happen to him. I could actually still root for him at Stanford - it's a fun team to watch.
January 3rd, 2011 at 10:57 PM ^
I was just going to post the same thing. Couldn't agree more with you.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:11 PM ^
The other thing that makes the NFL seem like an unlikely choice is that he seems to be a dynamite recruiter.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:33 PM ^
I agree about the NFL except for some special situations, like New Orleans coming back from Katrina to get to the NFC championship game.

helps big time with our players watching this on the tube to see what successful staff and program is is coming to our program! Just in case, we need a big Stanford win!

98 yards in two plays. That was fun.

Looks like JH had a few choice words to fire up Stanford during halftime.
January 3rd, 2011 at 10:56 PM ^
two plays, 98 yards.
beautiful execution by Stanford.

2 plays, 98 yards

Standford has been in the VT backfield all night. Tyrod continues to make plays however.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:12 PM ^
It seems like one of his best games scramble-wise this year.

A female face painter? Was it weird? And no, those little fake tattoos don't count. Full on tiger strips like that VT chick.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:06 PM ^
I've gone to Michigan games shirtless and painted maize and blue. Unfortunately I started going to games in 2008.

Where's the topless female section in the Stadium?

Maybe he's pulling the greatest trick of all, on all of us, and will decline all outside offers and sign an extension with Stanford to be their headcoach in 2011.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:14 PM ^
Their last home game there was maybe 75% capacity at their stadium that seats around 50,000. It is now a power in a power conference but it isn't the big stage.
Michigan is maybe the biggest stage in college football. At least it is top 5.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:20 PM ^
JH has said that he likes a challenge. (Frankly, if you're a football coach and don't like a challenge, you're in the wrong business... but whatever.) This season for Stanford is probably the top of what he can expect to ever accomplish there. Coming to Ann Arbor and fixing what's wrong at Michigan?? Now that's a challenge.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:04 PM ^
And Tyrod Taylor's mom is asleep.
