Happy for Northwestern. They've endured more than their fair share of heartbreak over the last few years. About time they had things go their way.

Harbaugh and Co. better bring their A-game when Northwestern comes to town in a few weeks.

Unless the guy risked getting tackled I don't get that. Scoring a TD would put them up at least 22-6 with less than a minute.

From a thin slice of data (week 1), having seen Minny and now NU (and of course us), I think UM is looking at about 5 wins this season. And that's ok. It's gonna take time.

that we haven't improved from last year. Minnesota and NW have looked much better than us. Hard to see us beating either one of those teams, now. At the best, we will be decided underdogs. Along with MSU, OSU, Penn State and BYU, that's seven losses right there. Not at all unlikely, with no running game and a QB throwing multiple INTs every game.

Our running game and quarterbacking were terrible. We will not beat either Minnesota or Northwestern with that kind of performance, or anyone else any good. And if you say that we'll improve as the season goes on, you also have to acknowledge that the teams we'll be playing are also going to improve, and stay ahead of us. Based on our first game, in what ways are we clearly better than last year?

UM played at Utah with a new staff. Northwestern beat a Stanford team at home missing 9 defensive starters and who possess no offensive weapons whatsoever.  Northwestern starts a freshman QB and have little speed on the outside.

Minnesota is trickier, but  they too have little offensive talent. The Gophers depend on mistakes. IF Michigan protects the ball they should win both games.

I think vastly overrate Minnesota and Northwestern. Both are well-coached teams that lack Michigan's overall talent. Both could beat Michigan if Michigan beats itself like they did vs Utah. But Michigan could just as easily handle them if they protect the ball and execute like they showed at times vs Utah.

I see 8-9 wins if Rudock performs like  a fifth senior QB.

than we had a week ago. Based on more data than people predicting 10-11 wins for this team. Based on the fact that our OLine had about as poor a blocking performance as we've seen since 2013, and far worse than that of any team we're going to play. Based on the fact that no other QB has thrown more INTs than ours. Based on Thursday night, in what ways are we clearly better than last year?
