And yeah sounds like it could potentially be long-term based on this defination I found, since it says it means damage to the muscles, ligaments, or tendons.

Let's see here, one guy played against Ohio State and Florida State with half a collar bone. The other guy hides behind an anonymous internet profile name and talks shit about a college kid he/she doesn't know.

Which guy to you sounds like he has sand up his vagina?

It was a bad hit, but just shows how porous our offensive line is. The guy got a clear shot at speight with little time to protect himself. The OL was a bit horrid.

Not skeletal, not concussed. Which is good given how that hit looked. Has to be a neck muscle strain / tear type thing. Ouch. Next man up happened and it was good. If Speight loses his spot he should be ready to come back if another injury happens.

I'm disappointed for the kid though. Speight seems like a good kid. I wanted someone else in there but that was a dirty shot and unfortunate result. Based on the way his neck was bent, could've been worse. Hope there is a suspension for the hit. Purdue was head hunting and taking cheap shots all game. Speights footwork and lack of mobility isn't a good match for a team that's struggling to block. I think that accentuated his issues. It was only a matter of time before something happened.
