Looks like a nice vehicle.

But Ford will fuck it up somehow - Marketing, Manufacturing, Sales - they will find a way.  That is how they roll...

Stock price over 20 years ago - $43.  Today - $6.  No excuse for that piss poor performance.  None.  Pathetic leadership and management - period...  They are a disgrace.

No - But watched the movie "Flash of Genius" again last night, and it shows what slimebags they are and were, and what karma is all about...

Toss in "Tucker" and "Ford v Ferrari", and even excluding their disgraceful corporate performance, you truly understand how obtuse and unethical Ford is and has been.

Absolutely terrible that they have to represent Detroit and Michigan.

Is anyone out there really proud of Ford's performance over the last 20 years?

Let us throw in some more Ford stuff:

  1. Henry Ford - while he did implement the assembly line for production and bring up the middle class, he was quite the anti-semite
  2. William Clay Ford - owner of the lie-downs - enough said,
  3. Ford Family, who own only like 11% of common stock, but 40+٪ of voting shares, RULE Ford Motor Company.  Why are the Ford heirs treated like royalty in the company.  They are like the British monarchy,
  4. Ford purchased Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo, Aston Martin, then they screwed those up and had a fire sale,
  5. Billy Ford through his career spent more time on environmental causes, but not enough time running Ford - see stock price comment from earlier.

1) You think he was the only anti-semite rich man in the early 1900's?  LOL!!

2) Terrible football team owner, good person.  If the choice is between WCF and Dan Snyder, who do you want?  Both are terrible owners, only one is a good person.  I'll choose the good person.

3) It's a family company, and Henry specifically set it up that way.  Are you seriously complaining that someone that started a company has set it up so that his family can retain control of it?

4) Yeah, they F'd up those brands - no doubt about that.  Alan Mulally sold them off to save the company before/during the bank-induced crash/recession at the end of Bush the 2nd's reign.

5) The best thing Jr ever did was admit that he was in over his head in running the company.  He is the one that brought in Mulally, who rebuilt everything Ford did.

I don't care if you don't like Ford, prefer GM, or love Volkswagon.  But in any of those cases, at least base your argument in factual context!

No, not their business performance. But I know some of their execs personally, and know that they are good people. They are taking strong stands recently on BLM, the environment, and other issues. Culturally it is a very good organization, good to its employees, and cares about its people. On the business side however they have made a lot of poor decisions.

I've done a bit of reading, and it's described as a "6+1" speed: the extra 7th gear is a crawler gear for driving really slowly through or across obstacles. So maybe the best way to think of it is as 0th or .5st gear, and not something you would use for normal driving. I'm not sure whether the crawling gear is 1st or 7th, or whether its marked as something else on the shifter. It could even be protected by a separate lockout, kind of like reverse.

I have a 6 speed.  When I run it through the gears I always skip 5. Personally I think they could have made my 6th gear 5 and my 6th gear an economy gear. I do have plenty of power ready when I am driving in 6th, which is nice.  Maybe 7 is the economy gear.  My power band on my car is limited, which makes me use the gears still.  Power drops after 6000 rpm, so need the gears for fun driving.

As an engineer, I am still always amazed with transmissions.  Gear ratios always seemed so complex, with planetary gears used in the automatic transmissions.  Big shout out to the guys that work on the modern automatics.

Hey, Sopwith! Nice to see you here. Question unrelated to the Bronco... I'd love to find a lab that can do a T lymphocyte blood test (on me and my wife). My wife had the antibody test for SARS-CoV-2 and it was negative. As a result, I didn't bother. But... it was at least six weeks after we were infected with some kind of virus, and it was (thankfully) a mild case. I would love to know if I/we have memory T cells. I asked my doc, and he thinks the test would be worth doing, but is not aware of a commercial lab that does them. Any ideas?

There is enough there to compete with the Wrangler and 4Runner. With enough money, you can customize one from the factory without putting in any wrench time and off-road with the diehards; including 35" tires! No other manufacture offers an SUV factory upgrade package like that. Toyota reliability will be hard to match, but time will tell.

Wrangler Rubicon JL stock is 33" tires but you can easily enough run a 35 on that platform without a lift kit. If you take it off road you need to run a 2 inch lift kit with 35's (really minor). Beyond your winch, flag, lights etc. you don't need to customize anything else for off road at all.

The new Bronco is pretty nice, IMO, but the off road version sure looked JL series inspired.

Actually pretty excited about it except for one thing--that "BRONCO" written on the front. Would look so much cleaner without it. Kind of makes it look cheap.

So the people on Facebook that are  finally right that this is the year the bronco comes out get to have their Rob Parker moment?  Good for them.

Gonna eat Jeep's lunch? Meh..maybe if lunch consists of hay, a sugar cube and an occasional Marlboro cigarette.

Don't think many outside of a Ford fan would be in awe here. However, I might be interested if they offered  a white model if it came with the Juice package.

The full-size is more vehicle than I need, but I am interested in the Bronco Sport. If Ford messes up delivery of my Mach-E, that may be the one I choose for my next car.

This is the first car I've seen from ford aside from the Mustang that I've actually found interesting in quite a while. Once they actually come out I'll have to take a second look and consider getting one. Partially depends on my job situation at the time, though. Ford has to be worried about the Bronco tanking with Covid going on.
