ND's Epic Fail

Submitted by The Wonderful 135 on

Notre Dame vs. #3 Ohio State

ND up 8 with about 1 minute left in the game.

After two turnovers and an AWESOME (/s) foul....

Notre Dame loses by 3.  Ohio State survives.

Lots of teams seem to be getting the bounces this year. Michigan just can't see to get the breaks and can't finish.

Trey's steal and dunk after McGary stepped on the baseline vs. Sparty and then the miracle 3-pointers, after Kansas's epic meltdown.

But, you're right. Not getting them this season, thus far. But I'll take one in a huge road game later this year.

I remain remarkably unimpressed with OSU, despite the comeback today.  Just feels like one of those teams that looks good on paper but gets bounced early in the tournament.

So really... this is best case scenario for M and the rest of the B1G? Ohio comes into conference play with a shiny record and ranking, only to lose a half dozen or so games, thereby confirming how awesome the B1G is at basketball.

Just saw the highlights. That was a shameful no call on Craft at the end of the game. The refs are supposed to be calling hand checks but it still all goes to shit at the end of the game. Blatant reach in before it went out of bounds. The lack of consistency between the way the last two minutes are called and the rest of the game has always baffled me in basketball.

Michigan blowing a lead with a big ten title on the line and this game might be the worst chokes I've ever seen with a minute to go.

Also maybe throw our game with kansas last year in there.

OSU is going to crash so hard in the conference season and I can't wait to see it. While our best basketball is ahead of us, they appear to be peaking in December.

ESPN has the summary play-by-play here - scroll down to about 1:45 left in the 2nd half and then read the play exchanges. That had to be something to watch for Notre Dame fans, and not in a good way obviously.

I mean, at the 1:15 mark, they took a timeout, then turnover, OSU scores, turnover, steal, OSU scores, turnover, steal, foul and OSU makes both FTs to bring it to within one possession about 30 second of regulation later, and then it goes downhill.
