Michigan vs Iowa Announcing Crew Nightmare (Not Pam Ward)
Well I hate to be the one to start complaining already but ESPN has announced the crew for the Michigan game.
Play-by-Play = Dave Pasch
Color = Chris Spielman
Sideline Reporter = Quint Kessenich
After Spielman's terrible "commentary" earlier this year I am hoping the radio and tv sync up well tomorrow.
Edit: Changed the title so no one was mistaken that it could be Pam Ward, sorry for the scare.

If not for the time delay, Frank & Brano would be a decent alternative to teh ESPN crew.

Spielman/Meyer are actually pretty good. Millen means you get McDonough, who is excellent.
And come on, we'll all be listening to Gary Danielson be an utter hypocrite and demand a rematch at some point in the fourth quarter tomorrow night. So it could be far worse.

Is the most boring man in the history of the world. Makes Joe Buck sound enthusiastic.
November 4th, 2011 at 9:25 PM ^
...but I like Joe Buck as a baseball announcer; I appreciate that he doesn't try to turn baseball into football. It's supposed to be relaxed.
Unfortunately, he instead turns football into baseball...but what can you do?

We could be stuck with that lisp guy like Notre Dame.

Is one of the best color commentators on the planet. I'd love to have him do M games every week.
November 4th, 2011 at 7:02 PM ^
will back track on calling last year's defense Mike Martin plus 10 Indiana guys. He's gotta give Mattison some love for actually doing something with MM + 10 and this should be a good game for that to happen.

I'm still trying to figure out how a station that probably has a resume from every sports personality, announcer, or analyst who can breathe allows some of the people they have to keep their jobs. I'm guessing it's a combination of nepotism, ass-kissing, and an occasional (in Pam Ward's case) attempt at political correctness.
Ultimately, any media outlet that employs Craig James, Matt Millen, and Pam Ward has no business calling itself the "worldwide leader" of anything, except maybe incompetence.

At least the ESPN people most of the time gets the names correct. The same cannot be said for the BTN.
Kenny Dewens, Jeremy Galloway are the two I remeber and I'm sure there are more.
November 4th, 2011 at 7:54 PM ^
they happen to be the worldwide leaders in employing people who kill 5 hookers...
November 4th, 2011 at 8:02 PM ^
Craig James?
November 4th, 2011 at 8:33 PM ^
The Worldwide Leader of Employing Hooker Murderers (Rumored)?
EDIT: Man, I was way late on that one. Must be the T-bird catching up with me.

Would be a Ward/Millen team. I shudder to think.

After last week I did an exhaustive search for Michigan sports radio stations on the internet. I muted the TV and listened to Brandstetter the whole game. Help yourself: http://tunein.com/radio/stations/Michigan-Wolverines-Radio-Stations-a37695/

Who ya got? Pam Ward, Mary Carcillo, or Mary Jo Fernandez?
November 4th, 2011 at 8:05 PM ^
When the Wolverines beat down Iowa, there's nobody I'd rather have behind the mic giving commentary than an Ohio alum! He's going to choke on every compliment he spits out! I can't wait for the atta' boy shout outs for Kovacs. Can't wait!
Go Blue!

Time to untangle the panties and realize that there could be worse announcers (Pam Ward, Beth Mowins, Millen) for the game instead of these guys.
November 4th, 2011 at 9:01 PM ^
Is a closet wolverine!

After speilmans comments during the msu game " Someone from the michigan state press box needs to go down there and tell them the michigan offensive line is blocking 5 yards off the line of scrimage"! I just wished one of the other guys would have told him to shut up

Ron Franklin got himself fired from ESPN.

It's too bad Pam Ward wasn't a Texas hooker back in those years where Craig James murdered five hookers while at SMU.
November 5th, 2011 at 12:06 AM ^
It's only an allegation that CRAIG JAMES KILLED FIVE HOOKERS WHILE AT SMU
November 5th, 2011 at 10:19 AM ^
Craig James killed five hookers???

Thank God no Pam Ward
November 4th, 2011 at 11:52 PM ^
I would love to see Chantel Jennings and Michael Rothstein call the game. The awkwardness would be hilarious. Maybe just for a quarter.
November 5th, 2011 at 10:18 AM ^
Not sure you want Rothstein on camera...

I personally don't mind Matt Millen as a color commentator especially when he is with Sean McDonagh who is pretty good.
I think the best team they could put together would be Sean McDonagh with Todd Blackledge (who has to suffer with Mike Patrick who is horrible). I also like Kirk Herbstreit a lot, who appears knowlegeable, non-biased, and knows what to say.
November 5th, 2011 at 3:13 AM ^
I love Pam Ward.
I want to whispher sweet things to her, like "your announcing is wonderful, I love it when you say "first down", baby".
it is 3am and in no wway was this post influenced by alchohol.

muting the tv when sorry ass announcers are calling a game..Better yet, mute the tv and listen to the radio commentators or music...
