but a lot of nice things, it seemed.

Way too many turnovers, some great fast break opportunities doinked but Caris was infreakingsane and they competed on defense.

Yes, they got beat like a drum on some possessions and they had a few brain cramps leaving top 3 point shooters open behind the line, but they competed hard on that end.

Pretty good matchup for Donnal, but boy was he outstanding. He really upped his battle level. And those blocks!

D Walt had a pretty solid game, overall, they definitely were they more poised team.

All conference road wins are great wins - great to see good effort and reward for that effort.

2nd half was great. 1st half...meh. So sloppy. we have real struggles against man to man defenses. have to figure that out. all the props to Donnal.

the four you named are the best teams in the conference. Michigan in reality is not on their level this year. Snagging road wins against middling teams like Illinois is what will put us in the 2nd tier and get us dancing. I'd argue games like today are more important.

Yippee.

I hope as much as the next guy Donnall keeps it up, but very doubtful.

I personally hope M wins the big ten and go to the NCAA title game, but with our current UNATHLETIC BIG MEN, that looks doubtful.

This game was so encouraging, but I am skeptical.  Donnal got a loose ball 5 feet from the basket and instead of powering it up, he dished to a guard to finish????

He's obviously not going to put up 26/9/3 every game, but if Donnal can play decent-to-well in conference play the outlook on what can be accomplished this season changes significantly.

The only thing I can say is that Illinois is a bottom tier team right now. They are riddled with injuries and had a starter out sick today. BUT......a win on the road in the B1G is fantastic!

It was a very important win.  It doesn't greatly change where we stand, but a loss could have really put us in a tough spot.  Same can be said for the upcoming PSU game.

A solid, double-digit win on the road in conference play is a thing to be happy about, obviously, and we are getting close to the point where many would say "Hey, this team should make the tournament" instead of "They might if..."
