Michigan Illinois game thread
This game on a Friday night feels so different than last year. Has football beating OSU lessoned our interest in the BBall team this year? Lessoned the pain? Hunter is out, Brandon is out. How are you feeling? And what are you drinking tonight? Go Blue! Pama liquor...a quality mixer. Go Blue!!

No Dickinson...... We gonna die!!!!!
January 14th, 2022 at 9:05 PM ^
likely lose by 20
January 14th, 2022 at 9:05 PM ^
wait until diabate picks up his second foul. oh boy. cofi gonna go off.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:11 PM ^
He has an early foul so he may be on the bench for a good chunk of the first half
January 14th, 2022 at 9:12 PM ^
and that second foul just came....buh-bye. we gonna die.
kofi is off right now, but we have no bench.

Diabate at the 5 is going well so far
January 14th, 2022 at 9:09 PM ^
Oh, my. No Dickinson.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:10 PM ^
I have watched about one half total worth of Michigan bball this season. Judging by the posts on this here site, I’ll succumb to wifey picking a movie for tonight. This is not at all the way I anticipated this season going. Guess we always have the football win against OSU. That sure helps!

gotcha beat, went to both games in Vegas and haven't watched one second since.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:12 PM ^
Diabate with 2 fouls already. The first was questionable but the second was an unnecessary over the back foul
January 14th, 2022 at 9:13 PM ^
and there is diabate's 2nd foul. this could get ugly quickly unless eli goes off big time.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:14 PM ^
What really sucks is that shot looked good. Bad 2nd foul.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:14 PM ^
We don’t have any other big other than Faulds
January 14th, 2022 at 9:19 PM ^
Tschetter didn’t make the trip and we are without Johns and Dickinson
January 14th, 2022 at 9:22 PM ^
That was more of a statement than question. With Diabate out, it was like who’s gonna guard the mammoth?
I did think I saw Tschetter though. Him and Barnes must be awful in practice. We have Jace on Kofi
January 14th, 2022 at 9:16 PM ^
both teams ice cold from 3
January 14th, 2022 at 9:23 PM ^
what makes you say that? (combined 0-9, yeesh)
January 14th, 2022 at 9:16 PM ^
Let’s see if they get out in transition more this game
January 14th, 2022 at 9:17 PM ^
Faulds doing the most with his minutes…2offensive boards already
January 14th, 2022 at 9:18 PM ^
Looked like a goaltend
January 14th, 2022 at 9:18 PM ^
Well, we should get a high draft pick next year.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:18 PM ^
Kofi is getting kid glove treatment. Weak fouls.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:21 PM ^
See here’s the frustrating thing for me. Illinois had a few somewhat weak calls go against them but just a foul here and there for their starters. But the boos start coming out and the ref show tries to balance that by giving diabate a 2nd foul when we’re already paper thin. That’s not balancing it out, that’s altering the game in the first 5 minutes
January 14th, 2022 at 9:21 PM ^
Refreshing to see Houstan struggle once again from 3, just great.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:24 PM ^
That second shot was ugly but the first was everything but in... it just spun out somehow. You can see it with his shot...it's there. It's a slick and smooth looking release. It'll come, but maybe not quite this season.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:35 PM ^
Eventually all these freshman will be amazing, assuming they stick around. It just amazes me how bad at the one thing everyone universally said he would be good at.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:21 PM ^
Defense has looked much sharper tonight. And that's minus you know who. Not sure if that means anything...but.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:23 PM ^
Didn’t have high expectations…but at least the guys are playing with a little more juice! Faulds/Jace have actually looked decent in their minutes at the 5
January 14th, 2022 at 9:26 PM ^
It'll be nice if Michigan's 3s start dropping.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:26 PM ^
Worst play in sports
Ruined the game. In what world is that real defense and why is it rewarded.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:27 PM ^
10-10!
January 14th, 2022 at 9:27 PM ^
Feet set as they are sliding
January 14th, 2022 at 9:28 PM ^
"Mountain of a man" twice so far.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:28 PM ^
Okay Jace settle down
January 14th, 2022 at 9:28 PM ^
I don’t think our best offense is Jace going against Kofi on the inside
January 14th, 2022 at 9:29 PM ^
we're shooting at a scintillating 25%
both teams are 0-for-3 pointers, a combined 0-12, evenly split. muy bad.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:31 PM ^
But yet we’re still in it somehow…lol
January 14th, 2022 at 9:31 PM ^
These fucking officials are bailing Illinois out
January 14th, 2022 at 9:31 PM ^
Wrestling crushed Ohio State tonight, so maybe some of that juju will rub off on the boys.
Edit: unless the refs continue ripping it away
January 14th, 2022 at 9:31 PM ^
11 minutes elapsed time, 9 michigan fouls
update: 12 minutes elapsed, 11 michigan fouls
January 15th, 2022 at 8:54 AM ^
Underwood works the officials as opposed to coaching.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:32 PM ^
Man Howard has had some good takes but he's trying to finish strong and it's throwing his "shot" off
January 14th, 2022 at 9:35 PM ^
I actually like Jace on the floor. He moves the ball well and seems to be a pretty sound defender (outside of cock burn)
January 14th, 2022 at 9:33 PM ^
Sloppy as hell but they are hanging around
January 14th, 2022 at 9:35 PM ^
Beginning of the night if you told me that it would be a 2 point game after the 8 minute timeout I would’ve taken it. Now I probably would’ve hoped we had more than 13 points though.
January 14th, 2022 at 9:35 PM ^
Already depleted roster and the officials are doubling us up on fouls
January 14th, 2022 at 9:35 PM ^
We’re not making shots but honestly this is the most fluid I’ve seen Michigan look in quite a few games. They’re playing loose and being pretty aggressive which is all you can ask for in this game with this lineup
January 14th, 2022 at 9:36 PM ^
My wife just asked "I hope this isn't a stupid question but is this a high school game?". And she was being serious .
