A link would be nice. Seems strange we would let up on his recruitment. I'm not going to worry about it though, I still like our chances as long as he takes his official visit to Michigan. Would be a damn shame if we lost him to ND though, so hopefully we get him.

Thought I rememberd reading that he's not taking an official visit to Michigan. Just an unofficial one. Would imagine that's to just save the free trips for places that he can't easily drive to though and because he's been to Michigan so many times though.
Still odd that Hoke and Co. aren't putting a full court press on this guy.

Could definitely be wrong about the full court press thing for sure. Logic just seems to dictate that not enough love = no full court press. Or not pressing hard enough anyways.
As for the visits thing, here's an article from Wednesday that addresses that:

Its paywalled, but the jist is that he's planning unofficials to "Michigan, Illinois and Notre Dame after his senior season" and officials to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Ole Miss. He could take two more officials, and one of those could certainly be to Michigan. The unofficials are all local'ish and the officials are all long distance (and paid for) which is why I assumed the cost thing. Could certainly be wrong about that too though. But, you know, logic...

For as good of a prospect Treadwell is, and for as lackluster as our current stable of WRs are, you put up with a little bit of the hard to get game. That's par for the course with the majority of the elite prospects. Hell, for all we know Treadwell wanted to commit months ago, but headed the "don't commit if you're planning on taking visits elsewhere" warning.

The coaches seem to be pretty good at recruiting, so it was likely Treadwell playing hard to get that turned them off.

Yes there will always be hot receivers, but the interest isn't always mutual, and its been a long time since Michigan landed one. So yes, if we miss out on Treadwell, there's always next year. But it sure would be nice to fill out a fantastic class with a stud at one of the biggest positions of need THIS year.

The thing is, if a kid gives you some fuzz during recruitment, there is a good chance he'll be a bit of a handful on campus. I'm not saying that is the case with Treadwell - I honestly don't know much about him as a person. But we've seen it before with guys like Pryor before, and while I don't think Treadwell is a head-case like him, it still can be annoying for the coaches and they might just not feel anyone is worth the hassle. Given what we've seen from this coaching staff, they are not going to allow kids to dictate how they recruit. I actually like that in the macro sense, even though on a micro-level it may mean missing some top-notch kids.

to take his time and choose the school he feels is best for him, BUT... I'm starting to think this kid is a prima donna, or at least his recruiting is shaping up to portray him in that light.
Smells like the Jordan Diamond string-along recruit all over again... just one guy's opinion.

People should be allowed to post criticisms. The coaches aren't perfect. This site shouldn't be one big circle jerk, it should be a forum for honest discussion. That said, the kid says the coaches aren't recruiting him as much as they used to or as much as other coaches. You don't get a much better source than that. So saying the coaches should step up their recruiting game isn't trolling, it's a fact. At least as long as they still want Treadwell.

All I said here was that Hoke apparently needs to step up his game too. Which is what this whole post is about. Treadwell apparently isn't feeling the love as much anymore, and if that's the case, then Hoke and company need to step up their game and give more love. I mean Shane Morris is a fantastic recruiter as Magnus said, but its Hoke and his coaches that need to make the final sell. I mean good lord, that's about as simple as logic gets.

Hoke may have a good idea of the price, and it isn't one that he will indulge in. Criticism is one thing, bad-mouthing when you have no idea of what has transpired tells me all I need to know.

Anyone who thinks ND winning the national title would be better than, say, an SEC team should think about cases like this. We recruit head-to-head against ND far more often than any of the other current national title contenders. We should want them to crash and burn against SC and hopefully also in their bowl.

I think ND weakness is good for us, but it also isn't safe to assume that recruiting success has anything to do with signing day perceptions. This year's ND team is built on defensive players and offensive linemen from Charlie Weis's last recruiting classes and guys like Louis Nix who committed a day after Weis got fired and ten days before Kelly was hired.
Te'o was on his official visit during a loss to Syracuse where fans were pelting players and coaches with snowballs. Then Jesus/God/Mormon-Jesus told him to go to ND.
Perception rarely equals reality. SEE: "MSU is getting all the awesome in-state recruits!" followed by those guys going 5-5 now as juniors/seniors.

I think the only development here is that he has noticed ND's "return to glory" this year. But I still think the fact he has not taken any official visits yet works in Michigan's favor. If he is planning on sticking to his timeline in announcing at one of the all star games, he will have just over a month to make official visits and his decision.
We already knew Michigan had came back down to the pack. Only the competition has changed. Michigan will get their chance to sell him when he starts taking his visits in the offseason.

below the press boxes. You can buy tickets in this section or exchange other tickets for them at the ticket office (based on availability). I exchanged my season tickets in 2010 to take a disabled relative. The ticket office is very accommodating and did not ask why I needed to exchange my tickets.
This section is basically for anyone that is not able to walk up the stairs (seniors, pregnant, disabled, etc). Also, you can take an elevator up to this section.
If you are exchanging regular tickets I would suggest getting there as soon as the ticket office opens.

You might also call the ticket office and inquire about the seating for people with limited mobility. Walking up or down the steps is one thing, walking/sidling down between two full rows is quite another thing - it can be avoided by arriving early, of course, or making sure you purchase tickets near the aisle.

It's hard to tell if it's Michigan not showing the love or Treadwell is just throwing out words to 'blame' Michigan when he has long decided not to join the Wolverines. If it's the former, then you gotta wonder why Michigan doesn't show any more 'love' to him - he has dragged way too long and, if you REALLY want to come to Michigan, you would have committed earlier. And if it's the latter, then I don't think Michigan loses out anything.
In either case, Football is always a team game. If he doesn't come, we'll find a good replacement - someone who will commit the next day when we offer.

Michigan has been recruiting him for a long time.He hasn't committed and loves the media,attention.Most kids would give their left nut for a michigan offer.I think after the last couple years(being strung along with a few recruits, and having their ass kissed) this staff realizes hes a long shot not worth the trouble.Either you are a Michigan man or you're not.
