Who cares about 30 million brown people losing their jobs and getting kicked off their health insurance and thrown into poverty.  I don't have to commute into work now and with the money I'm saving I can buy more caribbean cask single malt.  As an added bonus Trump is going to lose in November and I can sound like a hero on Facebook just by urging people to stay home, which is all I do anyways.  So covid-19 is the biggest deal ever.  Am I doing this right?

I thought it was just about the perfect response to my comment. Between the two of us, we got both sides covered.

Although, if I'm being vocally self-critical, I should have made a comment about this being a Left-wing attack on Trump to keep him from getting re-elected. Definitely an oversight on my part.

So blueingreenville.  I was intrigued by your quote about lost health care.   The closet I could find was this study https://www.kff.org/coronavirus-covid-19/issue-brief/eligibility-for-aca-health-coverage-following-job-loss/which says:

“We estimate that, as of May 2nd, 2020, nearly 27 million people could potentially lose ESI and become uninsured following job loss”.

Would be interested in understanding more about where your number came from.   Thanks.

The no touch key chain seems like it could be pretty useful every flu season.

And since not having a bad second wave could have huge economic ramifications as well as save many lives, even if people only meed masks for Covid, it seems like a prudent investment.

“A new study out in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences finds that among all the strategies for reducing transmission, wearing a face mask may be the central variable that determines the spread of the virus.‘

Pretty much all that Hong Kong residents have been asked to do during this pandemic is wear masks.  They never shut down.  They've had four deaths, in a city as dense as NYC.  Masks can make a big difference.

OTOH I think the keychain and other things like that might be overkill.  The evidence suggests that surface transmission of the virus is marginal.  Wash your hands before you eat or touch your face and you should be OK on that front.
