Now theyre getting an NFL team, Vegas is on the rise, as if it further validates it being a real city. .. And expect UNLV to get an uptick in recruiting.

I don't think an NFL team or being in a city is going to change their recruiting significantly. In the end, team success, coaches, and conference affiliation are going to win out.

UNLV has basketball history and boosters that were already in place, but it is still going to struggle long-term as long as it remains outside the Power 5.

I'm on a FB Sports group with a bunch of MSU guys and they were bitchin and moanin last night claiming the guy was getting paid, etc.    Schadenfreunde is nice sometimes.

I was coming to post this. Dropped by RCMB while bored during my "morning routine" today, and as far as I can tell, the only explanation for McCoy picking UNLV over MSU is that he was paid one billion quadrillion kajillion zillion dollars by "bagmen." Lots and lots and lots of bagmen...

MSU's frontcourt is already loaded with Nick Ward, Miles Bridges, Gavin Schilling (returning from injury), and incoming 5-star recruit Jaren Jackson. Not sure where the minutes were going to come from if he had chosen MSU.

MSU needs a PG or a SG more than they need another forward. I still want to see what happens with a backcourt of Cassius Winston, Josh Langford, and Lourawls Nairn. If they don't add a grad transfer, Winston and Langford are going to have to grow up fast to achieve the high expectations developing in East Lansing.

My MSU friends were definitely more concerned with getting Mark Smith, than McCoy. I think Smith announces today; time to see if Underwood can recruit his new state and earn that $3 mill

Unfortunately, though, I think Langford and Winston will be a very good 4-year backcourt. I do love the idea of McQuaid and Nairn being the only guard depth

There's that Stacey Augmon money train again!  Very weird choice other than under the guise of "I am one and done and NBA will draft me no matter where I play so I might as well play in a crap conference and crush people since I'm getting drafted on potential anyhow" but to sit here and laugh at their recruiting the past few years in light of our inability to get top 25 players is silly.  They had a huge class last year of top players and have a top 10 player coming in this year as well.

Hopefully Mark Smith goes to ILL as rumored as the maturation of Langford and Winston will be their main wildcards.  Their front court currently as set if Jackson is anywhere near his 5* rating will be difficult for almost anyone not named North Carolina or Kentucky to deal with.

They gain Gavin Schilling and Jaren Jackson from a 9 seed team this year. They'll be good but I don't get how they're going to be the 96 Bulls that I hear from every MSU fan. I expect Ward and Bridges to be better but they still have holes at guard.
