Recently, "Talking to the moon" by Bruno Mars. I heard it by chance with my 12 year old daughter a few days after the death of my mom. It brought us both to tears.
One week before I turned 16. My best friend had been kicked out of high school so he came to my school and got me out for the day. We went to a bar and ordered beer (this is just how things happened in the 80s where I grew up). I got drunk for the first time a few weeks later and did a faceplant from a 5-foot high platform onto the beach, my buddies had to come get me or I probably would've suffocated in the sand. My late teens and early 20s were not much different, but I hit the breaks significantly when I became a father in my early 30s.
I can't say my personal experience has felt like a disease, I can go for months without having a drink and don't usually get trashed anymore. Neither one of my parents drink. However, both of my in-laws were heavy drinkers (both deceased now) and I can see the family tendencies reflected in my wife's and my sister-in-law's drinking habits. We love to entertain and have a very active social life, so the opportunity to sauce it up is always there, but I can keep it under control nowadays. It's a bit harder for my wife to do so.
Oh, you just wait for the Fox broadcast for The Game. The two goofballs narrating the osu-psu game must still be trying to get the taste of buckeye scrotum from their mouths. They were ready to hand out five Heismans last Saturday, three of them to Chase Young.
Best of luck w the procedure. I did it 10 years ago (after 2 kids) and have zero regrets. It’ll be nice for your wife to have a choice whether to continue using birth control.
I'd recommend touring the Constantia wine region in Cape Town. One of the vineyards now has a very cool zip line, and coincidentally it's the last stop in the tour, so zip lining with a buzz is pretty awesome. Safe travels!
The program is being run by the Athletic Department, it is quite simple and painless. You just log into your account and "return" the tickets, even if you have received them in the mail; the Department has a "donation" box checked in already, so no chance to mess it up. Your printed tickets become invalid and new tickets are issued to the recipients.
For sure the worst drivers are in Texas. I used to live in Austin and now I come to summer "vacations" north of Houston. I'm surprised there are still people alive here, I saw one major accident per day over our first week here. The most common things:
- Driving slowly on the left lane and not using the right lane.
- Texting while on the move.
- Crossing lanes suddenly.
- Not checkng blind spots.
It doesn't help that construction projects here take forever to be completed.
Without a doubt, the best US drivers are in Michigan.
I hate that they keep on killing the dire wolves. Now only Ghost and Arya's are alive, the latter lost somewhere. I think they're cooler than dragons. They could've shown Rikkon and proved his identity by showing the dire wolf in a cage. Oh well
I happen to live in Bangkok and this is what I do:
If you happen to be a UM alum, the university provides a free VPN service for alumni and retirees, which is the fastest VPN service out there; find it and install it on your laptop (it will not work on mobile devices, AFAIK). If you're not, just hire a vpn service for a month (but make sure you configure EVERYTHING before leaving the US), I believe you can get 1-month service for about $5 (or use the free trial if possible). I'd recommend strong VPN. Tunnel bear works, but not always and is not as fast as strong VPN, but it is simple to install and there's a free version. Maybe get both?
If you have cable (which, who doesn't?), make sure you have your provider's login credentials handy. The game will be on ABC/ESPN, so you can log into their web site (ESPN3) and "activate" your device (if you're watching on an ipad) or log in directly into their site with your laptop.
Most properties now have different "tiers" of internet service in South East Asia. Make sure you buy the fastest, it usually runs up to $50. I'm not sure what the Hilton does.
I'll be traveling, otherwise I wouldn't mind hosting a game viewing party.
You're lucky the game is not on BTN. As I indicated on a previous post, that is a piece of dog shit. Runny dog shit.
I have been unfortunately forced to be a BTN2Go International customer for the last three years because of where I live. What a steaming piece of piece of shit. For 5 minutes of the game I had to look at their stupid blue screen.

Thank you for all the hard work and years of dedication. And yeah, the heartache, too.
Go Blue
Bert looks like Dilbert's pointed haired boss trying to fart.

Charles Woodson, of course. To play offense, defense, and special teams. A close second would be Braylon Edwards to keep the dropsies to a minimum.

Her characters in Arrested Development and Archer reminded me a little too much of my mother in law. But I won't hold that against her. RIP
Coach has some moves!!
Good. I hope they put 100+ on sparty.
Go Blue! F Staee!

Congrats on staying dry for 30 years.

Was it me or did Don Brown sound a little like Ronnie Mund?
Good riddance. Thank you for the heads up!

I was hoping I could suit up this weekend, maybe in the slot. I could probably run the 40 in about 9 sec flat. Make it 12.

Thank you for the non-Freep article. I would not want to catch anal warts by clicking on a Freep link.
I can't wait to see that dunk in One Frame At A Time.

Great story, thank you for sharing. My condolences about your grandmother.

I'm glad Pedo State and penis face lost. I don't care as much about the B1G's image as I do about psu losing every game they play.

Not surprisingly the BTN streaming service is still a steaming pile of shit. Zero improvements over the years.

I'm looking forward to the next 5 years of outstanding interviews and song parodies.
As a father, I cannot imagine the pain of such loss. The mere thought brings tears to my eyes. My condolences to the Carr family.
Those fuckers ran out of luck. I hope they now STFU. Eor Dantoni can suck it.
Maybe we could ask Dave Brandon to help bring the WOW effect to the blog.
