BTN2Go is no more

BTN2Go app is no more.

BTN2Go's content that required a cable login (for example: streaming a Michigan game that's airing on BTN proper) is now going to be housed at FoxSports.com and the Fox Sports App.

If you use BTN+ to stream non-televised Michigan sporting events such as early season Basketball, Hockey, Baseball, Softball, Volleyball, Lax etc. it will now be on a standalone BTN+ app.

I always watched the big ten games through fox on the fox sports go app which included the big ten network games anyways. It already seemed like another app was doing its job

I found this out when I tried to watch the spring game-practice-thing earlier today and got dick punched by the BTN2GO app.

It took some angry searching to find it, but HERE it is on youtube if you’re feenin’ for some Michigan football.

Good, it was terrible.  I stream all of my games as a cable cutter and BTN2Go was by far the worst of a mediocre to bad group.  During the SMU marathon I had to restart the stream/app a bunch of times, it would come back from "commercial" (that non moving BTN2Go screen) mid play, randomly bump down to a massively pixelated feed even though I know I was the only one home using the internet, etc.

I wonder where I will get the opportunity to stare longingly into the Farm Bureau Insurance ad now, as that is the only ad I think BTN2Go ever showed me when I used the app....

For as many non-rev sports as I attend, I just can't convince myself to get BTN+, its just too expensive for what it is. I very much wish that the Big Ten had gone the SEC/ACC/Big 12 route and their big partnership was with ESPN instead of Fox, because then a lot of content would end up living on ESPN+, which I already pay for. I do get BTN+ for day games when I'm on campus on my work computer, but that doesn't help me when I go home from work and no longer on campus. I did once communicate with the B1G VP who manages that sort of thing and he acknowledged that some sort of off-campus discount for people who have campus logins was worth exploring, but I imagine nothing will come of it.

Despite the annoying commercials, “BTN2GO has been very, very good to me”...Sayonara BTN2GO.

ESPN still has more UM streaming contents plus other sports goodies than BTN+FOX combined.

Quick question: the recently revamped ESPN app has made it impossible for an overseas alum like myself to access it because it now requires the Location Service to be turned ON (ESPN app caters mostly to the domestic US market).  Does anyone know a workaround to the Location Service restriction (besides jailbreaking)?  Otherwise any suggestion on accessing UM football+basketball live streaming from overseas would be highly appreciated (without venturing into virus-infested websites).

100% not a fan of this. BTN2GO hosted games at 720p while if you use fox sports go if you download the raw file its only 540p and is just a downgrade overall. Besides you could go back and watch and fox or btn aired game from the previous few seasons on BTN2GO
