MBB - Morris Not Starting
December 28th, 2010 at 2:13 PM ^
Well we can say goodbye to any good Big 10 start now
December 28th, 2010 at 2:15 PM ^
Accountable. Lol great timing for dmo and that commercial
December 28th, 2010 at 2:21 PM ^
smart move by Coach, if anything, he was out way way too long !
Coach messed up on that one !
December 28th, 2010 at 2:26 PM ^
nobody's above following team rules
December 28th, 2010 at 2:44 PM ^
This not even debateable, IMO.
December 28th, 2010 at 2:34 PM ^
Having your best ball-handler on the court for four minutes of conference play is WAY more important than discipline, team cohesion, and helping a young team mature.
December 28th, 2010 at 2:26 PM ^
This is without a doubt the most frustrating basketball game that I have ever watched.
December 28th, 2010 at 2:34 PM ^
For me:
This is without a doubt the most frustrating basketball game that I have ever listened to (unfortunately I'm at work).
December 28th, 2010 at 5:36 PM ^
It was terrible...
December 28th, 2010 at 5:05 PM ^
much UM hoops the past few years.
December 28th, 2010 at 5:21 PM ^
You must have missed that MSU game that started something like 30-2 back in the Amaker days. We didn't have 6 freshman on that team either.
December 28th, 2010 at 2:33 PM ^
And Beilein gets a "vote of confidence" from Brandon. Do they do anything other than shoot 3s? Oh, and that windshield wiper offense at 30 feet from the basket?
December 28th, 2010 at 2:39 PM ^
Your username is a bit deceiving. Beilein has a great thing going and this team is turning some heads. After a slow start, they are just behind Purdue. Have some confidence.
December 28th, 2010 at 2:43 PM ^
You haz it.
December 28th, 2010 at 3:21 PM ^
What she said.
December 28th, 2010 at 5:06 PM ^
See the second half
December 28th, 2010 at 2:44 PM ^
someone posted when it seemed fashionable given the score.
now what do you have to say?
December 28th, 2010 at 2:46 PM ^
Yep, they're hitting 3s, but there is zero ball movement (A Beilein staple), there is no penetration, and there is no screening.
December 28th, 2010 at 3:00 PM ^
This seems like a comment from someone who is only watching the Gametracker, not the actual game. Early on, we were getting no penetration, and correspondingly few points. Since then, though, we've been making dribble-drives & opening up both some nice shots down low & easier 3s. Even though we've missed some 3s in the later part of the half, they have been higher quality shots.
December 28th, 2010 at 3:28 PM ^
Please don't question my knowledge of the game. I'll be happy to compare resumes.
December 28th, 2010 at 3:34 PM ^
why don't you just try posting something informative.
December 28th, 2010 at 3:49 PM ^
Michigan, because they run NO offense (other than hoisting 3s), they set no screens - other than the occasional ball screen 35 feet from the basket, they do little, if any penetration, they allow Ryne Smith who has done nothing but shoot 3s since he was a freshman at Toledo Whitmer SHOOT WIDE OPEN 3s, and Beilein uses a timeout with 8:05 left (his 2nd to last) when a TV timeout was coming on the next dead ball.
Oh, and Zack Novak and Stu Douglass are NAIA players, at best.
There's some information.
December 28th, 2010 at 4:21 PM ^
Getting penetration is easier said than done when you're playing a team full of quick guys and future NBAers, fucktard.
Stu Douglass carried the team today and any team in the B10 would love to have Zack Novak.
December 28th, 2010 at 5:32 PM ^
Contrary opinion aside from the guy aside, please refrain from name calling. You quickly lose any credibility that way. He may be overreacting, having signed up for an account just as the game was starting, but there's no reason to use "fucktard."
December 28th, 2010 at 6:37 PM ^
The Houston Texans are playing. Then it's very justified.
December 28th, 2010 at 6:44 PM ^
Name-calling, especially in an argument, is stupid. Relieving the angst of watching the Texans takes more than just dropping a string of expletives. I tend to neg myself for those anyway.
December 28th, 2010 at 6:55 PM ^
I sincerely meant the Texans have completely made it justified this year. I've watch a lot of NFL football, and the way they've done things is unprecedented. And I live in a Lions town.

And I think I've made it clear elsewhere I'm all for cleaning up the nasty discourse to make it more safe for W, H, or W, vs. just other stuff. So if my tease came off as a complaint in "Internet type", it was an endorsement that various Texan-affiliated people could indeed hit "fucktard" status.

Interesting side note- auto correct thinks the closest thing to "fucktard" is "duchess".
December 28th, 2010 at 2:44 PM ^
A 10-2 start?
One (not even full) half does not a season make. If you real, you know, perspective, or a real critique, feel free to share your opinion...but at least make sure it has some basis.
Completely unfounded, man.
December 28th, 2010 at 2:50 PM ^
Spare me with the 10-2 start. They played no one. This team does not run an offense and that has been the case since Beilein got there. They stand, all spotting up for 3s.
December 28th, 2010 at 8:13 PM ^
Anyone who says that Michigan "does not run an offense" or that it does nothing but "spot up for 3s" either has not watched a game or does not understand basketball. Or both.
Your resume? Probably like George O'Leary's.
December 28th, 2010 at 3:22 PM ^
are on the team because their dads think JB will coach them up. Enough said.
December 28th, 2010 at 3:29 PM ^
Yeah, using the intellect of NBA players is a strong argument.
December 28th, 2010 at 3:34 PM ^
using the 'intellect of NBA players' in the context of the knowledge of the game of basketball is a stronger argument than internet dude who claims to know a lot about the game.
December 28th, 2010 at 5:07 PM ^
One must wonder
December 28th, 2010 at 2:43 PM ^
FIRE BEILINE!!1!!!!
December 28th, 2010 at 2:50 PM ^
but I will always back the coach in these situations. I have no respect for coaches who give the star special treatment or look the other way. If you aren't prepared to enforce the rules, then don't have any rules.
December 28th, 2010 at 4:20 PM ^
Morris played the 2nd most minutes out of anyone on the team... that wasn't really much of a punishment.
December 28th, 2010 at 2:54 PM ^
The defense tightened up well. Ryne Smith does NOTHING but shoot 3s. Can't leave him open. Force them to put it on the floor.
December 28th, 2010 at 3:15 PM ^
anywhere?
December 28th, 2010 at 3:53 PM ^
Per the laws of evolution, given enough chance, probability, and time, we are bound to EVENTUALLY make a 3-pointer.
Edit: It has now become evident that I am, in fact, NOT in the Open Thread for this game. Pardon me.
December 28th, 2010 at 4:10 PM ^
hanging out with Hagerup....
December 28th, 2010 at 5:19 PM ^
its all GERG's fault.
December 28th, 2010 at 5:28 PM ^
It's hard to beat good teams when we shoot 37.5% from inside the arc and 39% from beyond it.
