MBB #1 in the AP Poll for the first time in 20 years.

#Michigan is back on top, ranked No. 1 in the AP poll for the first time in 20 years, 1 month and 30 days.

It's good to be back on top (at least in the APs eyes).

I was just about to buy that tee shirt from the M Den, but it's $28, which is ridiculous for a tee shirt. Add the price, shipping, and tax, I'd be dropping about $35 or more for a freaking tee shirt.

The M Den can go F themselves for that.

We had a few moments and some good players here and there over the past 15 - 20 years, but it really is great to put all that behind us and move forward.

This feels almost as good a validation as when we finally beat OSU last season in football.

In football and basketball, we are definitely moving in the right direction.

Too busy smiling to talk.

is going to be huge - 1 vs 3 for control of the conference race.  I am so excited for this team and for this week's huge game Saturday.  Between today's ranking, yesterday's win, and Green on Saturday, it has been 3 great days in a row.

Terry Foster and Mike Valenti don't give a damn who the #1 team in the country is, all they care about are callers and ratings.  How do you get people to call in?  Say outrageous shit about Michigan and angry up the fanbase.  It's a pretty predicatable pattern and frankly, it's embarrassing that a fanbase as smart as our purports to be continues to fall for it.

To be #1 in a national poll is a major benchmark for this team given the course of the last decade or so, and well-deserved. Even better, it was so convincing - 11 first places votes in the same poll last week, and 51 this week, or about 78% of the votes for first place. It means a lot to see this day on some level, even if it is a poll in the waning days of January, especially if you remember that we spent several years not even ranked in any week throughout the season. How far this team as come under Beilein's watch is simply remarkable. Can't wait to see "#1 Michigan" on the screen during the Northwestern game.

Wow, the last time we were ranked #1 in hoops I was a senior at Michigan.  Damn, I'm getting old.  Still that team was pretty good and lead to some pretty good times in March*.

Jalen was just on SportsCenter.    He said he is trying to get all 5 members of the Fab5 to sit courtside for a game this year.  Don't know how successful he'll be, but his love for Michigan and his pride in this year's team is pretty obvious.

Is it true the Pac 12 is back? Arizona #8, Oregon #10 and UCLA right on the outside at  #29.

  • Arizona beats Florida, and beats teams who have gotten better in Miami and SDSU but loses to UCLA and Oregon.
  • Oregon beats UNLV, Arizona and Oregon and loses to Cincinnati
  • UCLA beats Mizzou and Arizona and loses to SDSU and Oregon

Not the most daunting schedule for these teams but some good competition. We could possibly see the emergence Pac 12 again. Watching Oregon success has be pleasantly surprising.

Watch out for Ole Miss and their start player Marshall Hendersen. He's sending shockwaves through the SEC this year.

I've never had so much fun going person by person and reading their lips to figure out what they're saying. Also, count the number of flipped middle fingers on national TV in one shot, this could be a record.

Oh, and epic beard on that guy at the scorers' table.
