Mario Eugenio - arrested/suspended at UC
Not sure if the link works but hate to see these incidents with young kids that have so much potential. As many know, he was a one time commit under Nua.
Hopefully he learns from this lesson/gets a chance to grow as an individual and gets a second shot at football down the line.

While his incident was (to my knowledge) not a felony, vehicular butt smacking immediately makes me think of Will Campbell trying to pull a Dukes of Hazzard across a car hood and it not going quite as well for him as it did for the Duke brothers.

This is, essentially, what Grant Perry did in a line to get into a club in East Lansing. He pled to community service under a first-timers thingy. But the fact is, he was guilty of a crime because of exceedingly poor judgement. Hopefully, Eugenio will be given a chance to learn without his life getting blasted too far into space. But you CANNOT DO THAT SHIT!!!!
The question of Perry's worse judgement is yet unanswered - why was he trying to get into a nightclub in E Lansing?

Times have changed and a lot more is expected of young adults these days. Were his actions stupid? yes. Was he wrong, 100%. You engage in this type of activity these days it is assault, not simply immaturity.
Decades ago, this was the norm. Films like Porky's or Animal House or even American Pie was full of these sorts of activities and framed them as "shenanigans" without ever inspecting the impact it might have on the girls.
Mario's actions are really dumb and deserve punishment and I'm assuming he'll learn the hard way that this behavior is intolerable. That said, I hope this doesn't ruin his life or future as nuance is important here and this should not put him in the same class as a rapist or violent sexual offender.

Had no idea what an UC was. Wasn't sure if it was UC Berkeley or UCLA. I had to click on the link to find out it was neither. Was pretty sure it wasn't University of Chicago.

UC is the system of Universities of California, but I've never seen someone just say "UC" to refer to any specific California college. Always the acronym, like UCSB, UCSC, UCI, etc. Or the nickname like Cal/Berkley. To be fair though, I wouldn't call Cinci "UC" either.

I live in the Cincy area. University of Cincinnati is referred to as UC.

Dumbass? Yes. Should be punished for this to some degree? Yes. Pretty minor on the scale of things you could get arrested for? Also yes. There's "don't do it again" stuff, and there's "ruin the rest of your life stuff", and this is solidly one of the former. I did my share if stupid illegal stuff in college (mostly trespassing onto private waterfalls, abandoned mine ruins, and the like), and it probably would have helped my character development if I'd been caught and had to do community service or similar. However, I grew out of it, and this seems like the kind of the Eugenio can grow out of as well. Make him understand it's wrong, apologize to the butt-smacked individuals, and let everyone move on.

Yeah, don't do this, but getting the cops involved? This seems overblown to me. I remember the first time I got smacked on the ass, by a basketball coach as he sent me into a game, lol. Was weird, but far from traumatic.
