Locker room issues after the game?

Submitted by Shop Smart Sho… on

I'm copy and pasting WMUKirk's post from the Snowflakes Offense thread.  Feel free to delete if you think it shouldn't be up. Figured people would miss this as it is buried in that thread.

"I do not know where to post this but here's information for you.

1. Michigan will be holding a players only meeting tomorrow, spearheaded by Jake Ryan, and Ramon Taylor.

2. Shane has a high ankle sprain, doubtful he plays next week. Can barely put pressure on it.

3. Desmond Morgan is highly upset that Jabril didn't play today.

4. Players morale has geniuely finally dipped.

5. Jabril turned his back to the coaches after the game, and looked in his locker. He's highly disgusted.

6. Doesn't feel like a team, defense keeps to defense. Offense to offense. Not much cross mingling between them after this game.

7. Nuss & Hoke argued with Dave Brandon present. Words weren't audible to any one else. "

Borges is a big reason as to why we are in the situation we're in today. The only thing that people were wrong about is that Nuss would be a big time upgrade. I was way wrong on that.

No I wouldn't, it's not that he said that crap in practice, I don't care about that. It's the fact he turned his back on his teammates they had nothing to do with benching him. Your still on "a team" it's bigger than you. Sit on the sideline suck it up and cheer on your boys. I wouldn't be upset if Gardner got benched again for the way he acted today. He should have been helping Shane out instead of sulking on the sideline and looking at formations incase of injury. Which of course happened.

between players.  There are a few reasons these things happen. In this case I think it is in response to a lack of faith in the coaching staff and how they have handled things.  If what is said about Peppers is true, then they painted the kid in a corner and have totally frustrated him.

I think it is obvious the type of thing going on is seen in the way Hoke handled QB's this week.  He never said he was going to start the guy that gave the team the best chance to win, but rather the guy that did whatever during the week.  If the players believe that DG is the best player then the coach had better be right when starting the other guy.  In this case Hoke was dead wrong and lost his team.  Also, I don't think Hoke made the decision based on what the player would bring to the game.  I think he started Shane because he was either pressured by DB or felt the pressure from the fan base to do something different.

I hope we don't lose too many to transfer, and get a real HC to straighten things out.  Also, DB and anybody that has been pulling the program in different directions since 2008 are huge problems.

I'll be the first one to say that sometimes people overreact on the internet, but you also shouldn't really be surprised when you post somewhat-controversial topics with mixed histories of being accurate.  Also, trying to step back after being called out on them probably doesn't help.

are only a sympton of the disease.  Watch any f-ing football game and if you know a single thing about the game, you can at least see how the underdog team is trying to attack the favored team in such a way that their scheme brings them into their most competitive posture.  And usually, since the team with the better athletes is doing the same thing, the more talented team wins.  BUT, with Michigan we have been blessed with back to back stubborn ideological idiots (an offensive genius and defensive moron with Richrod, and who the hell knows what with Hoke?).  With Hoke, it is impossible to figure out how the hell they think they are exploiting anyone's weaknesses but our own. They seem oblivious to both our strengths and their weaknesses.

But  actually we are lucky, because that sick naseous feeling we had with the Mississippi State bowl game under RichRod is already occuring now and it is still September! So bag Hoke now, get a decent interim player's coach like Moeller to shepherd the team this year while they find an actual head coach replacement.  Do not let this regime go on like this, Hoke, with his historical first 3 losses in September has done enough.

If that is true about Peppers I'm pissed. That is exactly the attitude I want in a defensive back. Hell, that's the attitude I want in all players. You have to have some level of cockiness to be truly great. You think Saban or Harbaugh would bench a player for that? Hell no. They might have a kid run some extra stairs for that, but I bet that's exactly the attitude and approach they look for in their players.

Maybe the players don't exhibit the fire in the belly because they're reprimanded and taught to be as emotionless as their coach... I don't expect the players to be as brash as Money Mayweather, but, good God, if you're that brash, you're typically inclined to work hard enough to back that shit up. If this is at all true about Peppers, Hoke needs to be sentenced to stand still while a defensive lineman rams him in the face, all helmet, with a decent running start...

I know you didn't make the comment but I see WMUkirk on here answering responses. I do believe that some of the events probably did happen (I heard, more speculation that Nuss wanted Shane out but Hoke kept him in during the big controversy, so I believe that Hoke and Nuss had words). However, if the coaches allegedly sat Jabrill, would Morgan be mad at the coaches for sitting him or Jabrill for committing an act that forced the coaches to sit him? I don't understand that point. Needless to say, Hoke should be fired tonight. Brandon should be fired Monday.

teams lose and morale suffers. don't need internet rumors to imagine the described scenario happening. the team obviously quit and the disharmony was more than evident (gardner > morris).

if i were going to keep my faith in hoke it'd had required the players keeping their faith in him.

this thing already is ugly, but their will be carnage with regime change. but frankly, at the cost of our great class or even guys already on our roster, no price is too steep. it cant go on like this.

Remember when a smart man said the following: "We're gonna believe in each other, we're not gonna criticize each other, we're not gonna talk about each other, we're gonna encourage each other."

Fucking makes me sad to see what my team has become.. What about the team guys?

I don't even have Twitter...I was just trying to prove a point that if there are issues, someone is going to tweet about it. They're still kids/young adults and in today's world, nothing really stays secret.

I'm sure WD or someone is friends with all the players on social media. Maybe that person can give a run down.

The issue with Peppers isn't what he's done yet -- although when he's been on the field he's looked good -- it's what he represents.  Peppers is an elite player, on both sides of the ball, and Michigan has him sitting on the bench.  They talked about having him in on punt return, then nothing.  I have a feeling that other coaches at less conservative programs would have been testing him out on the offensive side of the ball already.

It's one thing to have him only on the defense, for now, it's another thing all together to not have him in the game at all.  Peppers represents what so many have been saying about this staff: they have NO IDEA how to use the talent that they have.  We had Denard, a literal "once-in-a-generation talent" and squandered him trying to make him into something that he wasn't.

If the argument between Nuss & Hoke is true, I think it's pretty obvious that Hoke is telling Nuss what to do.  Now, most HC's tell their coordinators what they want to do, but I have a feeling Nuss was sold a bill of goods.  There was some serious frustration on his face in the Miami game, and we saw nothing in the Utah game that resembled a "modern offense."  Where is Norfleet?  Isn't he the energetic heart of this team?

I was so pissed earlier that I nearly smashed my laptop.  I am glad I didn't, but if we lose Peppers I just might.
