That is awesome!
On pace for -72. Keep it up dude!
Small sample sizes, ftw!
I hope in addition to the birdie every hole trend, Fitz is able to maintain his 30 yard/carry average next year with a heavier work load.
Going for the Kim Jong Il round, really.
Wait... Kim Jong Il.
Kim jONg IL
Lion Kim, throw out the j and g.
I look forward to the ensuing 17 holes-in-one.
Glenn Beck was pointing out this "coincidence" last night on his show.
... you put the word news and Glenn Beck next to one another.
that's really offensive and not funny.
I disagree. I'm also Korean, so that makes me right about anything pertaining to other Koreans.
so i think i have similar jurisdiction
Pre-dating CRex by decades!
Count me in the population who can thusly commentate on anything Korean, or anyone with Korean heritage, at our leisure.
can you keep the updates coming please?
Gotta go back to jury duty now.
Kim is on the prowl
Is the first round on TV anywhere?
Not until 3pm on ESPN...there is select coverage on Masters.com though throughout the day
Is live from the Masters until 3:00 when ESPN takes over. I think it's mostly highlights and interviews though.
for the sake of board hygeine, maybe they could all go in here:
http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/lion-kim-masters-update
I'm very pleased by all of the interest; I wasn't sure how the MGoBoard would take to golf.
Did you think you were the only person in the world who cares about The Masters?
I posted the interview with Lion precisely because I thought there'd be some interest. And even if some football fans didn't know much about golf, I thought that the 2011 Masters would get their attention and generate some new interest, when there was a guy from Michigan's golf team in the field.
But on a board where "golf clap" is used as an epithet against some fans, I thought that there'd be mixed feelings. I knew that we had some current and former golf team members who were on MGoBlog. And I was also aware that Lion kim himself knew almost nothing about MGoBlog.
The "golf clap" term is used as a joking way of subtly implying a "job well done."
I've never seen it used "against" fans. And if you think so, I'm guessing you're interpreting it wrongly. Maybe not.
If you're referring to making fun of blue hairs, well, I would say that's something different, entirely true, and not at all a negative reflection of golf.
I'm still in school and some of the loudest, craziest fans are huge golf fans. Golf has become a multi-generational sport.
You, sir, have an amazing memory.
but the example of hating the golf clap is taken out of centext here. I think most of the posters don't like golf clap AT the big house.
This means people can still like golf, but dislike golf claps at the big house.
Lion Kim would be in my bracket for awesome names...
plus at 3pm they will have a Masters video board on channel 701
That is great. #1 hole is usually a very tough hole to get a birdie. It seems like the conditions are perfect for some low scores today.
Par on hole 2
Par on #3, in a 14-way tie for 12th at -1.
started: Birdie, Par, Par
Bogey on 4.
It's over, the next 68 holes are just a waste of time
The Lion King
just gave me douch chills.
Bogey on #6, now at +1
Kim is currently in the middle of the pack of amateur players, with Uihlein, Chung and Matsuyama two strokes ahead him at -1, and Smith and Jeong behind him at +2.
I'm loving the leaderboard on the Masters web site. Very user friendly and informative.
As of 2:50pm ET, the amateurs are:
- Uihlein, -2 through 3
- Matsuyama, -1 through 9
- Chung, Finished at Even
- LION KIM, +1 through 7
- Jeong, +1 through 16
- Smith, +3 through 11
EDIT: Lion just bogied 8 and is 2 over.
Tiger with back to back birdies. Now at -1 through 14.
Back to +1
on direct tv you can follow different groups.
With Love III and Olazabel.
Which means he'll be live on masters.com.
Thank you sir
He's now +2
