Little surprised he didn't get picked up by a power 5 team.

Terrorists have overtaken the US Capitol. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet.

[Edit: in an attempt to make sure you and everyone else here sees this, I'm taking the unorthodox step of posting within your comment something of a warning/clarification:

Please refrain from going off-subject or hijacking a thread, and ESPECIALLY not by injecting clearly controversial and/or politically-related material into an unrelated thread.

I'm well aware that you specifically are some 700+ points short of what's required to start a new thread yourself, but the subject matter you injected falls far too close to politics, the posting of which is specifically addressed within the "MGoBoard FAQ.

Per my own post back in August, items of national importance will be considered, but there's a couple things here:

1) This one is literally getting covered on every outlet right now obviously.

2) There is no way it ends well on this blog. You could approach it in the most non-judgmental way possible - if that's possible right now - and it would descend into a whirling shit maelstrom in seconds.

I am sure some of us have well-formed opinions and could discuss it in a civil manner, but because this is not a universally held standard, we will simply skip as we do nearly every topic in this bucket.

I'm not playing the "keeping score" game between the 2 extreme sides.  There is no "scoring system" for any of this behavior.

"Oooohh, yeah but what we did is less bad than what they did."

Playing that game is, honestly, part of the problem.

Bullshit. One group of extremists stormed the Senate today. One side has been crying about the election being rigged. You are the one obscuring the problem. I don't like riots, but they are not direct attacks on our democracy the way this is. And that attack was done by one group of extremists, who were encouraged by the president, and not the other. We make distinctions in life all the time and choose between the lesser of two evils all the time. Don't be wilfully obtuse or too cowardly to call it like you see it.

Never once did I condone the actions today -- they are abhorrent and disgusting, quite frankly. I am not defending them by any means.

But to also say the views and actions of 1 extreme side is causing all the problems, while dismissing the views and actions of the other extreme side, is yes, part of the problem.

I don't have to pick a side, and neither do you.  They can both be bad.  Who says we HAVE to pick the lesser of two evils?  I don't want to pick either of them.  I want unity (that doesn't mean we have to agree on everything); I want peace.  That won't happen unless BOTH sides come together.

In 1954, there was group of armed Puerto Rican nationalist that opened fire in the House chamber: https://history.house.gov/Oral-History/Events/1954-Shooting/

Not relevant to today’s events at all. Just wanted throw some history out there that I learned about 20 years ago on a in depth tour of the Capitol building.

Let’s hope it’s nearly 70 years or more (or ever) before something like this chaos happens again.

I do.

People who use violence or the threat of violence to achieve their political ends.

Say for instance of a couple thousand people broke the windows and forced the doors on a federal property that was being used to carry out part of the formal transfer of power by the entire elected legislature. And if they happened to plant pipe bombs across the city at the same time. Those people would correctly be identified as terrorists.

I don't want to put this on the kid, but a move to a school like Alabama A&M, especially for someone originally from Baltimore, feels like academics/behavior may have been a factor. Transferring may have been a kind way to say you have to go. For his sake, I hope I'm either wrong or that if I'm right it's not something that keeps him from reaching his potential.

Every school is...

Guys are legitimately homesick.

Northwestern just won the B1G West and had a great season and they've had at least 7 guys transfer since the B1G Championship Game. Including starters or key backups.

They basically lost Charbonnet, Turner, Giles Jackson, Sainrisril, their Mayfield opted out before the season and never opted back in, they lost their Morant and Upshaw. They also had a junior CB turn pro and opt out of the bowl game.

Northwestern.

We'd freak out if that was happening here with the names I've mentioned.
