Juwan's Third Straight Round of 16
No one beats Michigan in the round of 32. This time we are in the 💩 16
Time for us to go🍌!
All the pressure on Michigan and they got the job done. I'll take that over what Rutgers fans have at the moment.
Long Island (Hofstra) vs New Jersey (Rutgers) - aka the battle for Markley Hall
Lol this was good. Some of us there were from Chicago!
Markley is where I learned a new spelling and pronunciation of Mark.
Markley is where I learned I had to say I was from UPSTATE New York.
Agreed. B1G teams can't win in any tournament other than Michigan.
Rutgers was supposed to win this thing...LOL
Now we get stuck doing the heavy lifting in the NIT. There is no I in team, but there is an I in B1G

Actually, there's a 1.
That may even work better.
The Big Ten is a joke to other conferences in basketball. I have Purdue losing in the 2nd round and IU losing to Miami. The NCAA knew what they were doing keeping Rutgers out. The SEC is slowly becoming the big time conference for basketball as well.

The best basketball conference by a healthy margin is the Big 12 and that's before they trade Texas and OU in for Cincy, UCF, Houston and BYU. The SEC has a couple of good teams at the top but no more than most other high major conferences.
I was walking by a TV at the airport and ESPN had a segment where "Mad Dog" was mad that Rutger (and another team) didn't make the NCAA Tourney.
Why so mad, Mad Dog? ...lose big and then go home?
Muppets?!?
Ok....
This is what I came to ask, too.

We got muppets for beating Wisconsin on a buzzer beater at home (and then lost 3 straight). The muppets bar has never been lower.
March 14th, 2023 at 10:16 PM ^
lower bar you say
Now Joey Baker decided to show up. To bad he didn't play like this earlier in the season.
Poor Rutger on the other hand. Wow.
They are so disappointed, you can see it on their faces....
Those faces at 25-30? Can you imagine at 50-60? Yikes!

that's spray on stuff, has to be. wiped off after the party.
All I can see in their faces is that their about to melt
Seems he plays well when Jett is hurt and he plays. Makes you wonder...

In our last 4 wins, Joey played 111 minutes. In our last 4 losses, Joey played 34 minutes. Correlation is not causation, but that’s a pretty striking stat.
How many minutes did Jett play in those games?
Wasn’t this his first start? Seems he made the most of the opportunity. What could’ve been had Tschetter not been starting.
Joey Baker has had 3 games recently he has played over 20 minutes and got 7 3pt attempts up.
Win vs Wisconsin 36 minutes 7 3pt attempts
Win vs Rutgers 25 minutes 9 3pt attempts
Win vs Toledo 29 minutes 7 3pt attempts
Meanwhile Cheddar is logging huge minutes and Jace is also getting minutes for some reason. Its not the player its the game (time decisions) by coach. Heavy minutes for Baker couldve netted us another 2-3 wins and put us in the tourney. Here is another way of looking at this.
Rutgers in the BTT 10 minutes
@Indiana 4 minutes Cheddar 20 minutes
@Illinois 10 minutes
Yeah this isnt a problem Joey Baker could fix.
Baker is your one Beilein(ish) player. Give the guy the minutes and let him get in a groove.
Sweet
Bring on Clemson or Morehead State
Gotta get through Vandy first.
Can’t tell if serious
Looks like I picked the wrong thread to quit drinking.
I’ll take the win for sure but damn…14 turnovers and getting doubled up on offensive rebounds by a smaller and poor rebounding team is poor fundamentals and effort based.
A lot of those turnovers were early. We settled in nicely and Dug wasn’t the reason. He is going to be a very good player as he matures. Most important position in college basketball unless you have an Edey on your team. A lot of the offensive rebounds were due to long missed jumpshots. It didn’t look like an effort thing.

We out-rebounded them by 10 overall. They took a lot of long shots that lead to long rebounds. I’m not upset about the effort tonight.

The turnovers were early and while yes Toledo got 12 ORs some of that was because they shot 73(!) times and missed 40 of them. Michigan nearly doubled them up on defensive rebounds and also hit 60% of their shots. I wasn't really bothered by the rebounding in this game given the circumstances.
I’m not busting out subs for this. Or the water gun.
This was actually funny and not worth downvoting.
Hey I half expected the team to look totally disinterested and embarrass themselves. I'm happy with today
I’m pretty sure this was a Seth Fisher hot take back in January
And TWII showed up a bit! Neither Tschetter nor Reed got much PT in the second half, and TWII deserved the time he got, playing hard. Nice!
March 14th, 2023 at 10:57 PM ^
Better from him, but he needs to stop bringing the ball up after a defensive rebound. Almost an auto-turnover when he does that.
March 14th, 2023 at 11:27 PM ^
I guess by showing up you mean he wasn’t a liability the whole game, but he definitely wasn’t good in the second half. Involved in three awful turnovers, was getting blown by Toledo’s CENTER, and was yet again clueless on the press break.

Hey, what TWill and the Toledo center do off the court is their own personal business. Let's stay focused on the game.
I will always be happy about Michigan winning
