jonesing for some insight about Indiana
I'm champing at the bit to get into the B10 schedule now, and waiting 7 days may kill me. Who knows about Indiana? (Looks like they're on their way to 3-0.) How is their defense? Where is the talent on that team? Can they stop Michigan? Can our D stop them? I assume we'll be favored, but by how much? A TD?

gives his team 24 hours to enjoy the victory before focusing on the next opponent.
I suggest we try to do the same thing and realize how much we should cherish the victories we obtain. Because we haven't been entitled to any in a very, very long time.

If you're not interested, why bother to reply? I know there are people who feel this way, but if you could explain I would love to hear.

I'm interested in trying to convince as many Michigan fans as possible to see the forest for the trees, realize we've won 8 total games in 2 years, and milk every single win for as much as they're worth. That's all.
I'm a sports junkie, and I can talk all night and day about our advantages and disadvantages against Indiana. But I love this team, and this team needs all our love for the game they just won. I just think looking ahead to the next game 3 hours after the last one is a misuse of time for Michigan fans.

Ahem, 9 total wins (counting baby seals of course).
September 26th, 2010 at 12:07 AM ^
2008 3-9
2009 5-7
Total Record 8-12
Unless you count Delaware State as 2 wins, I'm just not seeing it...

beat Florida in 2008, technically.

Indiana's D is pretty bad. Denard (and anyone at QB for that matter) will shred them. Only problem is, that little Pistol offense they got going over there is pretty good. I don't think it'll be quite as close as last year, I think Michigan wins by at least a TD.

- First B10 game
- Away
- Their program is headed in the right direction
- Their offense put up 31 on us last year, and should be good again this year.
- Our defense is what it is
- Catching a punt is considered an accomplishment for us on special teams.
Yeah, I'm not gonna lie, Indiana makes me kinda nervous.
For us to have any hopes of going 8-4 or better this year, we need to win all the games that should be definite wins for us (IMO IU, Purdue, Illinois) Last year we found crazy ways to lose to Purdue and Illinois, and almost lost to Indiana. Thus, these games make me nervous.
Yes, yes, I know....This year is different, Denard, etc. But still. Memories of last year are still fresh and still just as terrifying.
Thus, every game is a big game for us from here on out.

Trap Game... yay yay it's a trap jpg.

I hope you weren't being sarcastic, because I think you are right on this. However, I really don't think any of our players are going to take anyone lightly - especially in conference; the revenge tour has to start.

I'm super serial

Let this game breath a bit. We'll have the rest of the week to worry about IU.
September 25th, 2010 at 9:50 PM ^
I wouldn't say he is necessarily worrying, he just simply wants to know more about them. Curiosity can be independent of worry.

There is a carryout in Speedway that boasts "The Coldest Beer in Indiana." I can vouch for it, it is indeed very cold. Perhaps the coldest I have had.

Boise-Oregon St, Oklahoma-Cincy, and Auburn-South Carolina are on my tv already. I don't think I have room for Indiana.

Offense- Above average throwing qb, albeit his elusiveness in navarre-like. two very good receivers. decent line (lost their best lineman to the pros from last year). Tailback is same cat from last year.
Defense- All you need to know is that they lost there two best players from a D that was horrid last year.. (sound familiar)

thanks!

Well in the few minutes I've watched, it's clear their defensive line sucks......bad.
September 25th, 2010 at 8:36 PM ^
awesome DE's they had last year graduated?
September 25th, 2010 at 8:42 PM ^
I haven't looked up whose who, but I watched 3 or 4 plays and Akron's O-Line was blasting IU's D-Line off the ball 3 or 4 yards. It was the first thing I noticed when I turned on the game.

I remember reading that in The Wolverine FB Preview mag...my 'Bible' in the fall.

+1 for the correct spelling of "champing."

Harry Cherry looks like an awesome person, but he does not make for a good interview.
September 25th, 2010 at 8:55 PM ^
we could be in for a game. IU's offense is competent; if we aren't executing, all bets are off. I don't see that happening though, I think we'll roll 47- 27; that's my way to early look at the IU game...
September 26th, 2010 at 12:32 AM ^
42-34, M wins is my early prediction.
I really think we're going to have to put up 40+ on offense to win most of our B10 games.
September 25th, 2010 at 8:56 PM ^
They can throw the ball pretty well, but not much else. Michigan's offense should annihilate their D. On offense, Ben Chappell is a pretty good QB.
September 25th, 2010 at 9:49 PM ^
Their stunning victories over Towson (I'm sure they're an FCS powerhouse) and W. Kentucky (last win was during the Bush administration...but hey, at least it's the younger Bush administration), as well as today's likely victory against Akron (uh...MAC...that is all) don't really provide much in the way of useful information.
Chappell's passing numbers look strong, and Darius Willis has rushed for about 5 YPC so far. Given the competition, who knows what will happen?

September 25th, 2010 at 10:29 PM ^
Actually, its about 41.3 ppg. Michigan is averaging 41.25 ppg with two BCS wins.
I see where you're going though.
September 25th, 2010 at 10:31 PM ^
did some significant damage to their D which should have our offense licking its chops, although IU's best LB sat out with a concussion. Don't know his status for next week. As has already been mentioned, the offense is good. Veteran QB, good receivers, certainly a challenge for our defense.
September 25th, 2010 at 11:10 PM ^
because they run the same Pistol offense that Nevada runs. But defensively the Hoosiers have a low number of returning starters, and are likely to be publicly destroyed with frequency in the Big Ten this year. Just my opinion.
September 26th, 2010 at 1:44 AM ^
Their passing game is good. Their running game is meh. Their defense is worse than ours.
September 26th, 2010 at 1:34 PM ^
Bad defense. I go to IU. some of the plays they allowed to Towson stunned me. Towson gashed them on broken plays with quarterback scrambles. Denard will be hard for IU to stop. He will have some big plays. Their offense is good but Akron found a way to stop them a few times so I hope we can do a little better.
