Jersey Fail
Add last night to the list of complaints against Adidas. Burke, Morgan, and Stauskas all tore their jerseys during the game, to the extent that Burke and Morgan actually needed replacements. I didn't actually notice Stauskas's jersey tear, but it's mentioned in the recap. My wife did notice that Morgan's replacement jersey was torn in the final minutes, so that's at least 4 torn jerseys in one game. Ridiculous.
Has something like this ever happened before? I know it was a physical game and all, but I never even saw how the jerseys got torn. Did anyone else? Or is Adidas trying out paper jerseys?

Shit happens. Jerseys tear. No Adidas jerseys had this happen before last night.
The real fail in my opinion is not carrying a second jersey with each player's actual number on it. Strange to carry randon extra jerseys but no actual back ups.

I thought the exact same thing. I pictured them opening up a box of jerseys before the game and the team manager saving "Robinison....here's your #1......ok...here's your trey......does anybody have #3 again? No? Ok....back in the box.....Who has #4?"
I flashed back to Middle School BBall......

And Caris LaVert, they didn't even have enough spare jerseys for him.

What? how? My name is Pedot. Regardless, how does that make my relevant post in response to this guy's idiotic post regarding ripped jersey's 'offtopic'? One might find your 'solo dolo' name, which refers to smoking an illicit substance disturbing. Please keep things PC.

i know. still annoyed that a seemingly relevant post regarding a famously ripped jersey at the university of michigan would be tagged 'offtopic' in this thread. anyways, just as 'solo dolo' doesn't necessarily mean anything about smoking bud, 'pedo' isn't necessarily about being a pedofile...so it's a learning experience for both of us.

Pedo could be short for something other than Pedot. Google it if you aren't currently at work.

Bullshit. For some reason you think that making sophomoric allusions to child molesting is humorous. Why do you think child molesting is funny?
January 18th, 2013 at 9:33 AM ^
....who is making any jokes about that? You seriously need to be more open-minded. Just because my parents come from Poland, and named me something that, in English, is construed VERY differently, doesn't mean I'm making some joke about a very serious offense.

You could at least change the tag at the bottom.

You seriously need to get in touch with reality if you think that we're all so gullible that we'll credulously swallow your horsecrap about being born of Polish parents and your name being "Pedot."
Your dumbass tagline in combination with your account name makes it abundantly clear that you think pedophilia is somehow a subject for humor.

I may be wrong, but weren't those jerseys designed to tear if someone grabbed like that?
January 18th, 2013 at 12:19 PM ^
players like AC had many jerseys in reserve. the trend started in the old Big 8 and SEC, and if memory serves, AC was the first michigan play to use them -- Bo was old school on teh topic but saw the need w/AC.
tear-aways were banned shortly there after.
January 18th, 2013 at 11:15 AM ^
Maybe this is asking too much, but I would hope that jersey technology has advanced somewhat in the last 30 years, when players basically wore straight-up polyester mesh. Particularly since uniform manufacturers feature campaigns every year about how this year's jerseys are X% better/drier/faster.
January 18th, 2013 at 12:22 PM ^
was called a tear-away jersey. it was designed to tear away so that you could not tackle guys like AC by grabbing the back of their jerseys, which was the part of AC that most defends saw.

to Nike. With many other schools across the country dropping Adidas right now, due to some work environment issues in their factories overseas this would be a perfect time to get out of that contract. First it was the jersey issue a few years back for football against Northwestern, and now basketball? Just please make the switch, we can go back to wearing the real "Maize" as Nike is the only outfitter to have our true color perfected as I belive they copyrighted it?

The most famous instance is the game where Jordan's jersey was stolen before a game in Orlando and he wore #12 for a game.

for the Fab Five. Those shorts Jordan is wearing are awful. Even worse for the Magic player in the background. My god!
January 18th, 2013 at 9:37 AM ^
Those Bulls & Magic shorts aren't bad. In fact, they are much better than many of the oversized shorts that have becaum popular in recent years but are so big that they look like skirts.

When given a choice between seeing hairy man thighs or not seeing them, I choose to not see them. To each their own though....

The bulls shorts hit at the knee and thats not bad but those Magic shorts are half way up the thigh and that too short.
