Winston got an unbelievably kind whistle today. Tapped the ball and the refs missed it and pushed off with his elbow all day without a call.

Winston pushes off constantly and never gets called for it, so I didn't expect differently today. It's like Aaron craft hand checks. Is it illegal? Yes. Does it ever get called? No. So teams just game plan knowing that's something they have to deal with

During a timeout huddle in the first half Coach Howard said exactly that. Told team to take the elbow in the chest and respond back with tight defense. Next play, it happened.

1. Home team calls.
2. Team way behind calls.
3. Home team behind calls.
4. Home team calls for teams like Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana and MSU. I'll never forget Iowa 30 FTs, Michigan 5. Ever.

get the calls. In that order. Want to know why old man Izzo isnt very good in the tourney? See old man Knight and old man keadys teams. They win the big ten then shit their pants in the tourney. At one time we were down 14-2 in free throws. That isnt because we took 3 more 3pointers. Btw the refs have done these coaches a disservice in the tourney and they dont even know it. Check the records vs the seeds the last 6 years of each career. Again 14-2 is no accident and not because of a couple more jumpers.

I could see an argument that it could "fluster" the offense but in the case of Michigan, I just don't think they're a great team late in the shot clock. Towards the end they were waiting until about 10 seconds to initiate their offense and then running 10 seconds of bad offense.

Points in the paint at one point in the first half was tied, while fouls were 7 to 2. Not sure what to make of conventional wisdom about style of play.
