Nice. Nate, er, YAC Johnson, sir.

"catches the ball with his hands"
Defeinitely a plus. The recent trend of receivers catching footballs with their butt cheeks is cool and all, but using hands to catch is always best.

Yeah, he has the shiftiness and awareness that playmakers have. Kind of reminds me of Steve Smith and Golden Tate.

Steve Smith also immediately jumped to my mind after watching his tape. Obviously that would be the high end of his potential but that reminds me of his skillset.

No joke, pretty obvious why this guy is exploding.
I wouldn't say he is a burner which is probably why some of the sites are overlooking him, but he has amazing hands and really impressive strength and after-the-catch running ability.

Nope, we're going to play even more to our strengths. A 9-0-2, with only Lewis and Peppers behind the world's greatest D line...

My guess is Corley will always be a take if the spot is there. I think the last spot is between Pie and Crawford.

good read. seems like a high probability that he will indeed be a 'slot ninja'.
does anyone know what the NCAA limit on 'johnsons' is?
December 13th, 2015 at 8:19 AM ^
You may only have 85 scholarship Johnsons per year.

The "we need speed at WR" meme has to end. Didn't this year make it clear that the early "problem" with our WRs was entirely the QB? Once Rudock got dialed in the WRs suddenly got a whole lot faster, certainly fast enough.
Give me a quick, sudden guy who catches anything near him . . . please. This guy looks legit, and he has GREAT hands.

And it's always fun to throw Peppers in there.
Ooooh it burns! In more ways than one...

I can't help but think of a sign I saw on Monday Night Football some years back. The Vikings were replacing Warren Moon with Brad Johnson. The sign read YOU'VE SEEN OUR MOON, NOW TAKE A LOOK AT OUR JOHNSON. Dan Dierdorf came really close to full-blown cracking up.

Only 5'11", but with decent-but-not-great speed? Welcome, young man.
December 12th, 2015 at 12:50 PM ^
I also thought speed was a strength of his.
December 12th, 2015 at 2:06 PM ^
the roster shows 13 WRs, with walkon Kenneth Sloss (5'11") the only one less than 6 feet. The other two WR commits so far this year, Hawkins and Mitchell, are 6'2" and 6'3", respectively. Even Canteen and Wangler are 6'1". Perry is 6'0". My only point here was that I thought we specifically were trying to go bigger at WR from now on.
