Per Harbaugh : possible ACL injury forJeremy Clark

Submitted by Stuck in Lansing on

In Harbaugh's presser he said that he suspects Jeremy Clark has an ACL injury and could be done. Tough way to end a career.

Might struggle being one of our best defensive backs. Peppers could probably do it though. Sorry. I don't see the value of having one of your starting DBs at an already thin position being a primary blocker on kick return. We have some pretty good athletes on that bench.

And on the next play, while backing up in coverage, the same exact thing could have happened.

It's football. Be upset that a good kid got really unlucky on a standard football play.

Think about it this way. He's probably played on kickoff coverage before throughout his career when Michigan was up big and didn't tear/hurt anything 100 times prior. Were you mad during all of those as well?

Repitions are key. We are talking about being a primary blocker on a high collision non complex play. We are talking about taking one of your top skilled and trained DBs and putting him in a play that can easily be accomplished by Shane Morris or one of your 10 tight ends 40 other guys. You don't see the difference?

If so, it means that our secondary was full strength for 3/4 of one game. Bleeargh. Time for the young guys to step up. This is what we torched red shirts for. The good news is that we don't get another dangerous spread team until OSU.

Bummer deal. I hope it's not career ending for him. Clark's height and athleticism made him a great asset. A little thin/inexperience now at CB, NB and safety but there's still plenty of talent available for that rotation. I like what Kinnel adds to the secondary. Though smallish, he gets his hands on the ball and doesn't shy away from contact.

From what I understand, a 6th year might not be in the cards if I understand the rules correctly, so if that is the case, then you hate to see kids end their college career - particularly in a season that could very well be a great one - like that. When someone pointed out that he was crying as he was carted off, I felt so bad for him - like everyone on this team, he wants to compete with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind and be out there.

Everybody was talking about Long being a dude and having a chance at getting meaningful snaps as a frosh. Here we are. Sucks for Clark, but I'm excited to see if this kid can work his way into the rotation.

Good thing he was playing on special teams while up by 35 points or whatever it was.. pointless injury which should have never occurred

Hope he can make a full recovery for life after football. Too bad PSUs kicker was such an athlete to run down and deliver such a hit. Injuries happen and hopefully some of the youngsters will step up through the season.

In the game at that point..Special teams for a starter was mentioned to me. Why would a starter be exposed like this. Not sure if true by that is what I was told.

How many primary blockers have had season ending injuries in all of college football this year? Such a silly argument. The funny thing is no one is upset that Jourdan Lewis was returning the kick and got drilled by the hefty kicker. People only care when there's an injury.
