Gunner Kiel commits to Indiana

Submitted by Dreisbach1817 on

Possibly the biggest football recruiting commitment in Indiana history.  Will make the "Leaders" division very interesting in the next 4 years.

JC Shurburtt- Nation's top quarterback Gunner Kiel commits to #Indiana per @SWiltfong247

This reminds me of when Tim Couch commited to Kentucky.  Can anyone think of a top 1 or 2 national QB going to a similar program?

We will be fine at QB through his college career...So good for them, I hope to see the big ten doing some big things over the next few years...Ive grown tired of all the SEC talk

One name comes to mind that makes me 'ok' with this. SHANE MORRIS!

Althought Gunner is a good player/prospect, I like Shane Morris way more from watching videos etc.  Sure, we could always use a guy like Gunner on the team, but it sets up for Morris to come right in and take the QB reigns.

On that note, good pull Indiana.

So elder Kiel is the probable starter this season, and then next year his little brother is going to arrive on campus as a 5-star recruit and "future" of IU football and be expected to start from day one (and unseat his older brother).

Awkward....

Well he will have one of the best QB coaches on the planet.

EDIT: This is trolling? Because Denard isn't one of the best QBs on the planet who was coached by the now Indiana QB coach?

I don't think he was ever at Tulane.

A quick Google search turns up South Florida (never had a drop-back guy, let alone one sent to the NFL during his time there) followed by a year at WVU (with White at the helm... none there).  His time at Michigan was next (nope).

Anyway, for one of the "best on the planet", he's had basically no success getting his guys into the NFL (unless you count Pat White's cup of coffee in the NFL).

Terrible definition: Extremely and shockingly or distressingly bad or serious

Rich head coaching career record: 120-84-2

Brady head coaching career record: 47-50

What are you defined as when you fail to perform as well as "terrible?"

He didn't coach defense. He basically hired a DC who had been a HC so that he could turn that responsibility from recruiting to Saturdays over to them. It just didn't work out because he fired a good one and hired a bad one. I don't find anything wrong with the concept. It was just Gerg'd to hell.
