[George Campbell decommits]
This is a rumor on another site (I have no access to premium content). Mods, please delete if I'm out of line, I don't want to violate the site rules and I really agree with Brian's thoughts on how we need to treat commits / recruits / kids.
With that said, rumor is that a big 2015 commit is waivering. We may need to brace ourselves for a decommit. Hopefully, Michigan fans will keep their collective cool and not lose their shit.

Ummm guys, I can't start threads but Damien Harris just tweeted "Here comes the tough decision..."
I also don't know how to post tweets like earlier guys are doing. I suck.
December 17th, 2013 at 10:17 PM ^
He probably meant between Coke or Pepsi.
I get it. It's tough.
December 17th, 2013 at 11:04 PM ^
Please tell me you're the guy who tweeted that at him. I saw that a few minutes ago under the famous tweet. Also, I'd just like to make clear I don't follow the recruits. Just started following Campbell and Harris tonight to see if anything relevant came out.

Awww man. Unfortunately it was not me. I barely use Twitter.
I've always hated it.

page as well as "UM recruit". Umm, you might not want to freak out over every little tweet. Umm, okay?

Stop being a whiney concern troll

sucks obviously, but when we're talking about a kid who wouldn't be a junior until 2017, forgive me if i'm not weeping...
December 17th, 2013 at 10:15 PM ^
2015? My son is 2015. He commits and decommits to a number of things every week.
He gets 3-5 letters per day from colleges (many of which he's never heard of) and he is not a potential college athlete in a revenue sport. His letters are unrelated to any sport.
If he told me he had decided on a college I would smile and wait until the next day (and another pile of letters), when I would expect him to decide on another.
Not a college-level athlete, no recruiting calls/visits.
NEWSBREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A 2015 recruit changed his mind?
Color me unsurprised (and certainly not 'upset' with him). He is a 16 year old kid.
Good luck on a bright future wherever that may be.

A couple months ago it was: "At least they're still good recruiters!" Now ... yeah ... about that.
December 17th, 2013 at 10:27 PM ^
Now we only have one 5* recruit for the class not signing their LOI for over a year. Damn it!
December 18th, 2013 at 10:02 AM ^
for me it is more apparent which coaches are getting it done and which ones are not by the quality of recruits on each side of the ball... I don't worry about mattison and the defense...

There were some signs of his coming from his Twitter for a lil while...it is what it is.
And the fact that D. Harris has tweeted somewhat positive things about other schools (the one in C-bus in particular) can't be a great sign. He's not 100 solid either, nor should they be honestly.
Bottomline, as someone in this thread, all of this stuff will sort itself out on the field. We win games, we get big recruits. We lose games, we lose those recruits. Simple. Thats the part we need to pay the most attention to, everything else falls in line from there...
December 17th, 2013 at 10:26 PM ^
I was under the impression Harris was solid because he is a huge Michigan fan. Oh well though, and I do agree with you as far as how winning effects things. We will just have to wait and see. I don't care if we are getting 5-stars or 2-stars, my love of Michigan does not rise and fall based on the whims of teenagers.

Consecutive 5 loss seasons, and some serious questions in this current coaching staffs ability to develop players; this should not come as a real surprise.
December 17th, 2013 at 10:28 PM ^
I hope he finds the perfect fit for him...and I still hope it's Michigan.
December 17th, 2013 at 10:29 PM ^
Take ten 17-year olds who commit during their junior year—regardless of where they're committing to—and it's very likely that 2 or 3 will end up changing their minds. That's the nature of teenagers, and while it sucks to lose a kid of his talent, I'm not surprised in the least that this happens. And if the above post about Damien Harris isn't snark, this may not be the last.
Those who stay will get Michigan degrees. Those who don't get a diploma with some other school's name on it.
December 17th, 2013 at 10:31 PM ^
That would be one hell of a troll by Harris if he tweeted that just to send the Michigan fanbase into hysterics.
December 17th, 2013 at 10:36 PM ^
There is NO reference to football at all before that tweet. How anyone got that he was decommitting off of that tweet I do not know.
December 17th, 2013 at 10:55 PM ^
Never said he was "decommitting", but what I should have said is "I dont think he's 100% solid" instead of saying it in a way that was matter-of-factly.
December 18th, 2013 at 12:29 AM ^
I think he's a wait until signing day prospect.
Whatever sold him to drop MSU and "commit" to UofM...well, it might not have the same value at this point.
Yeah, kind of a strange thing to tweet. If he wants attention, he got it.
In this era of following any gesture from commits, he may have wanted to qualify what he was talking about.
December 18th, 2013 at 12:36 AM ^
Wrong Harris. That's Drake Harris, who has already signed his enrollment papers and will be a Michigan student in like 2 weeks. This is about Damien Harris who was never an MSU commit and is a 2015 RB from Kentucky.
December 18th, 2013 at 12:59 AM ^
Well, the other Harris still is getting attention with that tweet.
Okay, my bad.
December 18th, 2013 at 12:41 AM ^
Wrong Harris. Damien, not Drake.
December 17th, 2013 at 10:31 PM ^
That he was in AA on November 30 and had a vist with Hoke on 12/4...Did things change that fast?

December 17th, 2013 at 10:37 PM ^
Not a surprise...#89 offense in the country and no real sign of improvement this past season. 2015 will be long recruiting cycle especially if the crap on the field continues.

Is it better to have loved and lost than to never loved at all?
This one hurts. We have some good wide recievers coming in and he does have hands problems but guys that big and fast are rare. I doubt he leaves the SEC but best of luck to him.
