Game day prediction thread. Let's hear em

Any and all predictions go here. Who wins? What's the score? The first play? The fourteenth play? The final play? If you want bragging rights for a prediction, it has to go in writing before kickoff, so here's your chance.

Personally, here's my call for the first play on offense: play action of a zone stretch left, with Funchess coming across the formation left to right from his TE position on an intermediate route, Gallon going deep on the right, and another TE (Butt?) coming into the right flat late on a checkdown route.

Another 100+ post meltdown when they announce that Devin Gardner is wearing the 98.  It will include the exact same arguments that have occurred every single time one of these numbers is given out and have already happened multiple times this week.

I will neg the thread.

45-17. Michigan wins in convincing fashion. Michigan looks stronger as the game goes on and physically punishes the Irish. Notre Dame pays for the lack of respect shown to Michigan on all fronts (59-9 over CMU and still ranked 17th).

Josh Furman goes all JMFR-Kovacs on Tommy Rees..  It is easy to win when the opponent doesn't score.

Wish I could be there again this week, but my Dad is going (to only his second game ever!)

But Me thinks Michigan hangs a palindrome on the Fig Things to the tune of 31 -13. The Irish will be (in the words of Robert Zimmerman) Tangled Up In Blue.

TeamRankings had a nice little comparison on their game page (standard one-game, sample size disclaimer here):

OFFENSE NOTRE DAME MICHIGAN
Yards/Play
8.6   6.7
Points/Play 0.444   0.855
Rush Play % 55.56%   68.12%
Pass Play % 44.44%   31.88%
Completion % 62.96%   66.67%
3D Conv % 38.46%   66.67%
RZ Scoring % 50.00%   100.00%
DEFENSE
NOTRE DAME MICHIGAN
Opp Yards/Play 4.7   3.4
Opp Points/Play 0.078   0.148
Opp Completion % 48.94%   46.43%
Opp 3D Conv % 40.00%   28.57%
Opp RZ Scoring % 33.33%   100.00%

It should be a competitive game, but I would think that if Michigan can get the running game going and offer a nice, balanced attack for ND's defense, the efficiency of the offense should be instrumental in a Michigan win, something in the 30-21-ish neighborhood perhaps.

Up 14 early and auto-pilot through ND catchup efforts for a satisfying but "coulda/shoulda been more" win

Damn near want to predict a Quinn level beating where it was supp to be close and wasn't

Really surprised at the amount of people predicting a big win. If Michigan wins it will be another cardiac special.

I think it will be all Wilson and no Avery. Hoke's quotes sound like Avery won't actually play even though he says 'yeah' he'll play. I'll also predict Countess stays at CB and someone else plays nickle so he can match up along with Taylor on their outside WRs.

Funchess has a big game and the defense plays well in the red zone to win 28-13.  We also see a lot of Fitz to the outside and Derrick Green inside, going hurryup for most of the game but executing consistent short to mid-range plays.

Also at least one trick play like a double pass or throwback to DG.

I had a dream earlier this week that I missed the game and couldn't find the final score. But at some point during the game, it was 54-45, Michigan. If this game turns into a shootout, I may have to put a lot more stock into my dreams.

35-24 UM. Norfleet is taking one to the house tonight on the opening kickoff. The crowd will ignite even more, as if it wasn't going to be loud enough already. Fitz/Green will have tough sledding tonight, but Gallon could take advantage of their secondary and have a big night.

The game will be interesting like always, and Rees will probably have a decent to good night, but we'll take control from the get go and never look back.
