Really? He was getting crystal balled to Michigan in December and that was before we won it all. I'm also about 90% positive he was tweeting celebrating the Michigan championship too (although he deleted those now lol)

Jay Harbaugh was his main recruiter. Jay also found Loveland in Idaho. I imagine losing Harbaugh and Jay lost us this battle.

It's silly to act like this recruiting battle was over "a while ago" as if we never had a chance.

Yeah at one point he was 100% crystal balled to us. But yeah hiring all of these low level guys are going to kill recruiting. I got negged like crazy yesterday having the audacity to suggest that the adults have left. But watching what is happening on the BB court gives me pause to say, we might need to bring in a few guys that have some chops in the area of recruiting and credibility out on the trail.

Fire Warde.

In all seriousness I’m not surprised considering we lost our coach and staff is barely filled out I can’t blame him. Plus he won’t join campus till like 2026, I am not worried about a kid who has two years till he joins campus and then probably another to get back into game shape from his mission.

I like this response. I don’t care about stars or recruits. The coaches will recruit well or they won’t. The ratings will be high or they won’t. Nothing anyone says on these boards makes a difference in this area. The guys who want to be here will come here. If they don’t, I’ll get over it. With NIL, maybe complainers can throw some cash there instead of complaining. Otherwise, there’s nothing else you can do.

LOL! I have no idea why Michigan fans were so geeked about this guy. If he was going straight to CFB, then I'd have been on the bandwagon, too. But Oregon gets a guy who won't play football or even get to train for two entire years. He likely won't see the field his first year and then maybe he'll contribute or start. Or much more probably transfer again.

well it takes fast, strong, smart players to win.  they had this kid as number 1 receiver target for a reason.  having a unique prospect on the hook to play in 3 yrs is preferable to this alternative.

michigan doesnt get a chance at many 4.3 type skill players - sure, they end up with talented athletes regardless but world class speed never hurts.

when they can capitalize like they did with roman wilson, its helpful to do so.  guys like like can make a big impact, clearly

Not because of Bair, not because of doom and gloom...I'm a still in the glow of our national championship guy..but even I have to say, let's pick up on the WR recruiting..we lost alot and I do like the guys we have but we need some big fish at the position.

With the current offense, it should never be a surprise when a top QB or receiver chooses another school over Michigan. The surprise should come when one chooses Michigan. Sam even hinted this week that the offense was one of the factors McCarthy considered while making his draft decision, which wouldn’t be surprising. One of the things I’m most interested to see is whether the offensive philosophy changes at all with Moore as HC.

It's sort of crazy he's committed for 2026, which is basically a lifetime in CFB.

Ah well, UM will figure something out.  Seemed he wasn't in the cards once Harbaugh and co. left.

Hey can’t play a single down for the next two years. At least half of this roster is going to be gone by the time he could even set foot on campus.

Not going to fret over something like this.

Bummer. Maybe not surprising given the coaching departures -- wasn't Jay his primary? -- or the chatter of the past few weeks, but still disappointing because of how good he looks. You know he's a 5-star to 247sports, sixth-highest rated receiver and 27th overall. Sure the two-year delay would have been less than ideal, but I'd celebrate a prospect like that any day. When was the last time we that good of a WR prospect? I don't think Peoples-Jones or Tarik Black were that high.

I see people downplaying the need for top-notch WRs, but think about the contributions of some of our greats at that position. Braylon Edwards, Anthony Carter, Desmond Howard, David Terrell. No guarantee Bair will be that good, but he's that level of a prospect.

unfortunate, but not a surprise really.

Moore does offer some continuity, but losing Harbaugh and son and Minter and Herbert means its a different staff than the one he met on his visits. As much as we hope Moore does well, we won't know for sure until games are played on the field.

Good player, but he ain't playing for two years.
