The Forcier transfer, also known as the Forcier birthright. I hope things work out better for him at his next stop.

i'll give him this...he's got a good url...
February 5th, 2011 at 1:50 PM ^
Is "decent grades" one of those options?
February 5th, 2011 at 1:51 PM ^
I personally think Arizona would be a good idea for him. Closer to home, and Foles will be gone next year. Gives him a chance to learn the offense during his year out, and then be on equal ground with the other QBs for the starting job in 2012.

and he can have epic battles with Steven Threet
February 5th, 2011 at 4:18 PM ^
He was a red shirt when he came to Michigan, played, sat a year, played for ASU, so next year at ASU should be his last.

They have great proms.

Don't laugh. I saw on TV that that's a really great university.
February 5th, 2011 at 1:52 PM ^
And fulfill the Forcier-McGuffie destiny.

Is this. He was the funny kid in class who continously made you laugh hysterically but that kid was always messing up. One day you showed up to class and that kid was gone. Weeks go by you wonder where that kid ended up. Years later you had already forgot his name. His name was Tate.
February 5th, 2011 at 1:59 PM ^
He could go from being a short fish in a tall pond in any major college to being a big fish in a small pond at Montana. They probably wouldn't let "silly little things" like turning in classwork on time get in the way of playing football, either.
February 5th, 2011 at 2:14 PM ^
I believe Montana would make the most sense for him. He'd be following the downshifting pattern of his brother Chris, who went from UCLA to Furman. He'd have less competition. School would probably be less of a chore. Bonus: I think Missoula is, for its weight class, an awesome college town.
To varying degrees, the other choices (especially Miami) seem odd when the Forcier family history is considered. The kids don't seem to enjoy being 2nd/3rd/worse-string (at least not for the long term).
Anyway, good luck to Tate. He'll be remembered for many years (at least by this fan) for his early '09 highlights.
February 5th, 2011 at 2:07 PM ^
I'd have to say Miami, of those mentioned.
February 5th, 2011 at 2:09 PM ^
I wonder if his welcome kit will include some bongs with the school's colors?
February 5th, 2011 at 2:17 PM ^
...went there.
February 5th, 2011 at 2:24 PM ^
take it for what its worth, but tate's profile pic is now a picture of miami pro combat unis

What's up with Al Golden wanting anyone associatied with Michigan in recruiting, now our transfer. Seems to me like someone has a crush on us.
February 5th, 2011 at 2:48 PM ^
Is it funny that Tate transferred out of my Dynasty in NCAA Football '10?
February 5th, 2011 at 2:53 PM ^
Hopefully staying eligible is in the mix for options....
February 5th, 2011 at 3:17 PM ^
Honestly, it would probably be good for him to transfer to a FBS school rather than a FCS one. Having to sit out a year with a redshirt would allow him to adjust to the school and classes. He'll have the ability of not being a "star" on the team. Being out of the limelight may be exactly what he needs to get his head on straight and be able to pass some classes.
Good luck Tate wherever you end up. I'm dissapointed in the fact that it took you too long to realize you were screwing up in school, but you did an admirable job the two years you were here.
February 5th, 2011 at 3:22 PM ^
I love how "irrelevant" Michigan has become when the transfer process of our backup QB is front page ESPN news. This is why other schools hate us and I love it. I do wish Tate the best of luck.

Everything we do is newsworthy.
February 5th, 2011 at 9:53 PM ^
Don't even joke about that. The fear of Michigan becoming ND keeps me up at night. That and my fear of the dark.
February 5th, 2011 at 3:23 PM ^
Wherever he ends up, I hope he brings with him what he (hopefully) learned from all of this and (finally) gets his act together.
February 5th, 2011 at 3:35 PM ^
As a Grizzly fan, I hope he ends up at Montana. Montana football had a down year this year and could really use Tate's skills. I wish him luck wherever he ends up.
February 5th, 2011 at 6:20 PM ^
He just changed his FB picture to Miami football...
February 5th, 2011 at 7:38 PM ^
Just to see what it looks like, I searched for him on FB. Why the F are there 12+ Tate Forcier accounts? And no, there aren't that many people sharing his name b/c they all picture him as a football player. Why do people do this? Unless you're trying to scam people? I just don't know. You're either evil or stupid, and both aren't admirable traits.
February 5th, 2011 at 7:03 PM ^
Who cares where whats-his-name ends up. Clean air is a finite resource these days so let's use our precious oxygen for discussion of individuals that actually want to be --or are-- at Michigan.
February 5th, 2011 at 9:08 PM ^
It didn't work out, for a variety of reasons.
You had to sign up just so you could come in and tell us you don't care?
February 5th, 2011 at 9:27 PM ^
Yup.....and thank you for taking some of your vauble time to awknowledge my existence.
February 5th, 2011 at 7:27 PM ^
Best fit. Little D-lineman chasing a little QB.
February 5th, 2011 at 7:53 PM ^
I hope he goes to the U. He will be the most well behaved player on that team.
February 5th, 2011 at 8:08 PM ^
I feel like his distance from 5th Quarter WILL be considered in his decision.
February 5th, 2011 at 10:40 PM ^
I hope for his sake that he ends up at a pretty good school. As much as it may kill his dad to realize, the odds are against Tate making it in the NFL.

Hope tate finds the right place so he can get on track. He gave me some great moments.
